I'm in a slow process of taking my 03' WRX back to stock to get a new vehicle in say 6-12 mos. I have a Bosal catback(not the STP version) connected to the stock 3rd cat, Bosal catless downpipe, and Vishnu catless uppipe. I'm on the highway mostly now and not going to the track anymore, so I want to get rid of some noise. My question is if anyone knows if the Bosal muffler will bolt-up to the stock resonator pipe, or if the Bosal resonator-eliminator pipe will bolt up to the stock muffler? Anyone know?

No, the catback is 3" but I asked because I thought that they sold the muffler separately as well, although I didn't see one at the website. If they did, then that means the flange to the two would be tapered. Guess I should just take it off this weekend and see.

Nope, neither option will work due to different sized piping.

K. Guess I'll put the stock catback on this weekend and see what it sounds like and how much hp I'll lose. I still have the catless uppipe and downpipe on, and could swap out the 3rd cat w/my Stromung straight pipe if it feels like I lost too much hp. How much hp do you guys think I'll lose?

I plan on selling the car in 6-12 mos. Hopefully a tuned by STI Legacy, or Spec B. Also considering a C300 Sport but waiting on pricing to come out.

I put my stock catback on and took the 3rd cat off. It's now catless and basically 2.5" all the way through. It's quiet as can be and I can listen to the stereo at descent levels now. I can feel a little back pressure at low rpms, but overall I don't think I've lost too much hp...no more than 10-20.
