no, you cannot flash a 04/05 map onto an 02 or 03. They are not compatible.

Just open the 04 ROM and copy the appropriate tables into the 02 ROM. Takes only a few minutes.

They're probably almost the same size or the same size (i.e. 10x12, etc). I wouldn't count on it reacting exactly same way, but it will get you most of the way there. You should still go back and retune it and make sure AFR, timing, and boost are what you intended.

well i just downloaded a stage 2.5 map for a 04 ecu and looking at the scaling its slightly differnt then some of the maps for my 02 ecu. in some cases, the range is less/more, or the increments are differnt. should i change the increments of my stock 02 table to match the 04 ones or?... i plan on having the car tuned, its just a matter or driving the car there.

The 02 map is 1 column wider than the 04-05 wrx maps. You can copy them over but as long as you aren't doing full boost pulls your chances of jumping into the last column are slim. Just make sure the load on the final column is higher than the one to the left of it.

Its too bad I can't access my laptop from here, I've got a map already converted/tuned for a VF series in a 2002 map. If you want I can e-mail it tonight (like REAL late, midnight or so pacific time).
