Question CEL P0442 stand up

WTH!? I hate this code. I've had this thing since last November and its been pissing me off more and more.

So who has had this troublesome code and what did you do to fix it.

Things that have failed:
new gas cap via dealership, smoke test, blue T-fitting, checked a LOT of lines and fittings, driving around to see if it clears itself(2000 miles of driving around trying different little things), readjusting and pushing fittings on more.

Did you just work on rear sway bars?

Try to check the connection on the charcoal canister right by the RSB chasis mount.

Got the same code. Smoke test did not reveal anything? Have you upgraded your fuel pump recently?

stock RSB, stock FP. I've had my car buried to the frame in mud once, I'm thinking that may have shortened something's lifespan but I don't know what it could be.

A pretty big hose somewhere on the canister fits loosely with nothing holding it on, but it stays pretty well. What am I checking for around the charcoal canister? Sensors looked normal when I unplugged them and looked at the connections.

This is a thread I created a while back...you may find some useful stuff out of it.

If you have a loose hose, it may be loose enough to throw a code. I would also check for cracked hoses.

Fairly certain it is the purge control solenoid over the charcoal canister. Had Precision Auto Services on Louetta in NW Houston test everything after they smoked it, and they said it didn't respond to 12V.

Also, there was liquid gas in the hose running into it. So that is probably the source of the problem and my bad mpg. And possibly some other little issues.

Will order replacement from dealership tomorrow and update after install.

Question: Should I replace the hoses that had been holding liquid gasoline?

Its fixed so far! Got a purge flow valve from SubieGal for deal.

p/n: 42084H on the Subaru diagrams. Actual order part number was a little different, ask SubieGal for it.
