Default 02 RS Front sway bar install question

So I am trying to pull the front sway bar on my 02 RS. Do I need to drop the headers to get it out? I already have the subframe and endlinks removed.

I also removed the jack cradle in an effort to get more room to maneuver the bar and it did help, but the headers combined with the steering rack assembly make it near impossible to remove. And I don't like bending the hard lines for the steering rack either.

I already cracked the nuts for the header loose just to see if I would have any issues, and to my amazement they all were pretty easy. However I was running out of time (had to go to work) so I retightened them and remounted the sway.

Thoughts?

Remove the headers. I installed my fsb in the spring, at the same time that I installed the headers (on purpose). I didn't remove the subframe, it was enough to have the headers and cat section out. It's still a wriggle and twist to get it in there, but it'll happen.

This is a perfect time to install some EL headers.

Not sure about headers, but I didn't have to touch my exhaust manifolds or any other exhaust pieces when I put a Cobb front sway on my WRX.

N/A's have the headers in the way. These are my current headers and fsb after installation:

And I do remember removing the jack plate too, that was the easiest part.

Does the RS have different shaped headers than the rex? I had no problem with my front sway, just have to twist it around a couple times like those puzzles you see made out of metal in those knick knack shops.

Yeah, the ebay Borla knockoffs do hang lower than the stockers (well, pre-06, at least). I could probably get a straighter wrx front bar in there with enough clearance.
