Which doesn't work in mos of the US. EG33's are easy to swap once you decide what your choice of radiator options you wish to use. EG's are swapped in first gen Imprezas all the time.

2006eg33, that looks GREAT! How does it sound? If you know the "right people" here in the states you can pass inspection no problem. I really like the fact that you followed through with your swap. Most of the people on here never finish their swap and just become jealous. Ignore the haters and shine!!

GOOD JOB!!

Did you go with 5spd or is your car an auto? The Eg33 eat auto's all the time, no?

EG33, looks like a clean swap. Rator makes a great supercharger for the H6...

i'll update after my first tank of gas, but i expect highway mileage to suffer considerably. but in town mileage to increase. i'm able to cruise around in 5th at like 1500 rpm.

What final gear ratio are you using with your EG33?

3.9 final? Is that stock for the WRX? My ole 99' LGT has a 4.11 final drive ratio. I know I'll need to drop that old gear box out when I swap motors.

its the 2006 2.5i stock final gear.

if you're doing an eg33 swap, any trans will work. my knowledge is limited on ez motors, so i cant comment on them.

Can u please take some pics of firewall clearance and front of engine radiator and bumper clearance. Thx

Also what em are you using? Any other info is great. U make it sound so simple, I don't think a turbo or two would change much, but packaging. I saw a guy have to rewire his whole car, I wonder if it's because of your model year? I'll just let u answer, btw u mind if I shoot u a pm sometime soon?

Thx, carmi

i am using the svx ecu, and the 2.5i ecu

2.5 controls starter, alternator, and all the body systems

3.3 controls only the engine. i ran a relay from the 2.5i ignition signal wire to the ecu, which went to the self shut off, ignition signal, and control unit power supply pins on the svx harness. then tapped the svx starter signal, and back up power supply to the respective wires from the 2.5i harness

i ran a second relay to the fuel pump, to run it at full duty since the svx ecu wont control the 2.5i fuel pump controller.

thats it for wiring.

firewall clearance is the same as the 2.5i, infact the 3.3 air intake bolts up to the stock airbox.

rad support clearance isnt too bad. i have about 3 - 3.5 inchs from the crank pulley to the rad support. i just moved the rad directly infront of the support, then trimmed the headlight brackets and the bumper

Any reason you didn't choose to use a standalone to run the EG33 if you are doing a tandem ECU setup? That's how mine will be setup for running my EZ30R and still passing plug in tying in an STi ECU.

unfortunately for me the svx ecu doesnt allow me to tune it, i used this set up, because i had the ecu from when i stripped the svx, and i just wanted it running.

down the line though i plan to run a megasquirt, but for now, it runs and its fun

Yeah I had a Megasquirt for my SVX but then sold it when I was out of work. :-/ Still not sure which exactly I'll end up with for the EZ30R. AEM or ViPec but one of them...

well when i get my megasquirt, i'll have to pick your brain about setting up the sensors. did you use the stock crank and cam sensors? or retrofit an edis-6 system?
