No, the new Evo weighs 3500 lbs. Power to weight ratio will most likely make the STi faster. Especially in the corners.

Default This is stupid.

I'll let you know when I drive them.
The new Evo will not be that heavy. YES, the DSG will be quicker than regular manual shifts. I believe that the cars will be neck and neck again, like usual.

BTW...power to weight ratio does not make a car faster in turns, better suspension geometry does.

and you know that isn't completely true either...but yes, power has very little to do with cornering

Arent the new models both gonna be the same as far as geometry goes.... struts up front then multi link for the rear... but yeah, to my knowledge the GD vs current evo the control arms up front have a better geometry in the evo than the sti.

with all the helpers in the new evo, super AYC ACD etc etc.. i have a feeling the new evo is going to deliever... and also from the spy test shots the evo seems flatter in the turns.

I say again, the new Evo weighs 3500 lbs. That is a lot of weight to take through a corner. Or to drag through a 1/4 mile. It can have all the gadgets in the world and it will still be pulling 3500 lbs through the corners. Horrible car. Too much weight.

I thought they were going to release a 6-speed tranny with the new Evo as an option.

R34 skyline's curb weight was about 3400+ lbs for the GTR Vspec... and i believe that car pulled its lbs through the corners.

Agreed.

And for the record... how many hours have each of you spent driving the new generation of the Evo and STI?

Oh yeah? That many? Than perhaps this thread is more useless bandwidth than normal.

Other than a very pointless discussion on handling, what does this thread have to do with motorsports.

Try News and Rumors, no wait, you have no news or rumors to pass. Try the handling, no you are comparing two cars that no one on Nasioc have driven. Maybe General, no that doesn't work either.

How about you don't post at all next time until someone has at least driven the cars, mkay.

r43 skylines have a ****load of power most are over 1000hp, in fact my best friends brother-in-law has one of three r34 gtr v-spec 2 in the country, ive never driven the car but ive been in the passenger seat and if you give any car 1000+hp let alone his (1300hp built by top speed) it will rip through corners like nothing.

You are kidding right? Would it corner slower if it had only 600hp?

no im serious about the car, and im not sure how it would handle at 600hp, the car rode amazing and hugged the road like it was on a rail connecting it to the road, it didnt even losetraction when we took an off ramp at 100mph.
