Cool Yellow Stars Badge....The Hard Way

I've been lurking here for a couple of years and have seen plenty of badges with the background color changed, but haven't seen any done quite like mine. I thought I'd share the results of spending way too much time working on a badge. The background color came off easy enough, so most of the time was spent using nail polish remover to remove the paint/chrome from the stars and outer rim. Once done, I painted the rim and stars Testors yellow (a few coats were necessary to get them opaque). I followed that up by painting the background Blue Ridge Pearl (factory touch-up paint). I think it looks great on my BRP Coupe. If I were to it all over again, I'd use brighter shades of blue and yellow. Sorry for the crappy pic - I'm still waiting to pick up a good digital camera. So, do you think I could get 80 bucks for it out on E-bay!!
Cheers/Jim

Very nice. Definately worth the $80 for the "limited edition" badge

I was thinking about this when I was painting mine... I like the silver though

You could paint the stars gold to match gold rims if you have gold rims... That might be interesting (albiet close to tacky)

Thanks for all the positive comments.

FrankRizzo: My butt dyno says this badge is getting me at least as much HP as my alarm system !

2.5 RRRRS: You might find my turn-around time painfully slow: 3-4 weeks for badge to get to me in Kiev, another couple of weeks to find free time to paint badge, and 3 more weeks for badge to make it back to the USA. Oh yeah, and the way State Dept. has been irradiating my mail, it may come back to you lookin' like this (but guaranteed anthrax free)
