Default Drinks at Camino's on Friday - your input needed.

My wife and I decided to host a small gathering of friends this coming Friday for drinks, food, shennanigans, etc.

I love cooking, but really haven't played host to many events like these, and was trying to think of some good appetizers to have out for everybody to snack on, besides the usual bowl of chips and salsa.

I love taking small mini toasts, topping them with fresh mozzarella and tomato and then drizzling them with balsamic vinegar and fresh basil. They are always a hit!

Also, sangria is always fun for summer.

Bruschetta
Meat and cheese tray. Stuff like cured meats and nice cheeses (not a deli tray) with some assorted olives maybe.

I also really like sliced tomato drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt/pepper. Good stuff. You can top with a thin slice of mozzarella if you want. If you do use the real buffalo kind. Is better.

Trader Joe's has a small tub of marinated mozzarella balls in olive oil, oregano, red pepper flakes, and other stuff. SO GOOD. Get those with some cherry tomatoes, half them, and consider wrapping in prosciutto as stated above. You can't go wrong there, and you won't have to season them at all because of the cheese.

Butter bean bruschetta is good as well. Rub the bread with raw garlic after toasting on the grill. Yummy!

If your adventrous grill or sear off individual racks of lamb.

Mini crab cakes.

All depends on how much time / effort you wanna put in.
