I sure wish they would, by I have a hunch there won't be one. I just picked up the brand new SPT catalog last Saturday and there's not a single word about any upcoming SPT intakes. I'm guessing they did this to eliminate any liability for warranty costs associated with "potentially" leaned out A/F ratios.

A quick question for those with the 08 SPT CBE for the 5-door hatch. I've been reviewing sound clips on youtube and I honestly have to struggle to hear a difference between that and stock. It reminds me of when i put a Greddy SP2 on my tC, the difference between it and stock was minute. To those of you who have the SPT CBE for the 5-door hatch, are you honestly happy with it, or do you wish you had something that put out a little more sound? I found some clips of the Invidia and the Perrin and those seem to be much more to my liking.

I have a chance to buy an SPT CBE from a dealer for $333.00, but if it is as quiet in person as it is on the youtube videos, I think I'm going to pass.

Looking forward to your feedback!

SPT has a really big change over stock,

It's not the loudest exhaust, but 'can't really tell the difference' isn't something I would ever say...

I've heard the 5 door and know driving around in my sedan it's a world of difference...

They already said they won't release one because ' they weren't able to find something they were satisfied with'...

I also have the SPT on my 5-door and I can definitely tell a difference in tone. It is not going to be a Blitz Nur-spec, and doesn't try to be. It will also not send you to the nut-house driving with it on a day-to-day basis.

Had an issue with the PCV system freezing up on me (found this out on a different forum)
This is what happened when I took it in to the shop, I told them I lost 1L of oil on a trip about 250 Km long. I could smell oil burning when I got into town but I never seen any oil puddles in the garage

Took it in to Subaru of Saskatoon to get it looked at and they told me that I didn't put a new washer on the drain plug, so that’s where a litre of oil went, and they changed my oil cap. Told me that I poured oil down my engine block to explain the oil stains and said it was good to go despite my concerns that it was a little more serious than that

This was less than a week ago. Today I smelt the same oil burning smell on my drive home, so I went home to check it. Popped the hood and went to see if my oil was down again and oil shot up from the dipstick like crazy and thus started on fire when the oil hit the engine. I pushed it out of the garage and smothered it with snow but it took a while to stop.

Is there anyone that has had experience with this kind of situation (dealing with the dealer), what kind of damage other than the fire?
I want some compensation for this craziness.

PCV froze on me as well, just before Christmas in Swift Current, but I lost 4 liters of oil. Trailered it into Frontier in Winnipeg, and they changed the turbo for me and re-routed the PCV lines to prevent further freezing. I have driven the car back to Kelowna now, and Anthony's Subaru is waiting for authorization to inspect the engine for further damages due to low oil.

Another vote for the AP.

I got the Perrin Stage 1 AP tune on my '08 and I would never EVER go back to stock. Makes a crazy difference in how the car drives (almost to the point you wonder if you are going to blow up your IC).

I am pissed that everyone thinks the Legacy is an Old Man's Car. Thank goodness for the WRX or there wouldn't be any tuner parts to speak of. //

You guys are a great company to work with. I just ordered your 22/19 sways last week, putting them on next weekend.

Did you guys ever finish the charts for the 08 with TBE + intake + TMIC? Last word I heard was the TMIC was "getting a bit more" power. I'm trying to roadmap my mods (while staying 100% Perrin) and trying to get some clarity as to what the intake + TMIC are adding.

We have not done further ECU tuning with the TMIC. WE have some local tuners that have done this and 10WHP-15 is what they saw. There isn't quite as much more to be had as the turbo is just out of wind. Now if you have an 09.................

But is there really a difference between the 08 turbo and the 09? I had an 09 turbo installed on my 08 in December, and can't seem to find any differences.

Yes. The '08's TD04 just dies at about 5k-5.5k RPM. The '09's VF-52 keeps pulling.

They are mostly even up to then, with the TD04 being a bit stronger up to about 4k RPM, even to about 5k RPM, and the VF-52 just runs away after that.

Thank you for the info, I didn't realize the 09 had a VF-52, and haven't had time to pull the heat shield. I'll probably notice a difference once the new cats arrive for my car, the old ones are plugged with oil from my earlier PCV freezing problem. 36+ psi back pressure in the manifold.
