Based on the picture, it looks like the they have a prototype done for the sedan which is good news. If they have not put it into production it's only a matter of time. Hopefully not too long. The weird thing is that I keep hearing conflicting stories.

Great thread here. I guess I don't have to worry about modding
our 2008 WRX as it's my wife's car and she paid for it.
But I get to drive it !!!

Is there a benefit to running an aftermarket uppipe? What is the stock diameter vs. an aftermarket. Is there really a noticeable power gain if added with a turboback and stage 2 flash?

Hate to say it, but looks like Perrin, and Cobb lost tons 'o sales by being what appears to be crazy slow in releasing exhausts for the 08's.

yep, even if Subaru didn't have this introductory rate, I'd still line up for the SPT exhaust, it is about $400 cheaper for the sedan than the prices I've seen on average.

Well, I am on the subarugenuineparts.com wait list for the SPT exhaust.

I just don't think I'm going to find one for less than $344.00 shipped. I guess I'll see if it actually pans out.

**edit**

looks like they didn't charge my card after all. they said they would not be available until end of April.

yeah, I've read everywhere that says that these are not going anywhere until after the 20th of this month, but my dealer told me it will be in on the truck that comes every Tuesday, I guess we'll see what happens!

I just talked with my Subaru dealer today (Carr Subaru in Beaverton, OR) and they called Subaru to see what the ETA was on the SPT Exhausts. According to my phone call there was a manufacture defect in one of the flanges so the orders have been postponed until the end of April so that the defect can be corrected. Looks like we are going to have to be a little patient. Worth the wait though I think!

Has anyone tried out the AVO dual tip exhaust? i like it, but I wonder why it is only axle-back?

I like the SPT exhaust, but I hope it offers some good sound to the currently anemic whine of my '08.

This is an easy one, Does anyone know if the turbo inlet pipe is the same on the 08 as the 07 STi? I'm pretty sure it is, just looking for a 2nd opinion...

Just heard from the place I ordered mine from (BTW, if you didnt order already, you missed it. Prices at subarugenuineparts.com already went back up to 879.99)

It said the ETA for the 4-door Cat-Backs will be June. Just wait it out. *marks calander*

I would personally rather wait for the SPT instead of another one. I wouldnt have any warranty problems if the dealership wants to be a pain, the sound is proven over the years on other models to be nice, and its not a grapefruit-launcher muffler...

Just put RalliTek swaybars front and rear on my car, made such a great difference to the handling of the car!

i am really looking into getting a Access port soon, and i am planning on buying it from perrin so i can get their stage one map for free as well. My main question is how does cobb's and perrin's maps do in high altitude? Perrin has told me that they are working on a high altitude map, but i am just wondering how the maps out now will do for me? I live in colorado so thats why i ask the high altitude question.

Hey e-mail me your contact info and I will ring you when I have that ready to go, or I can get you the AP and the off the shelf map for now, then the PERRIN 91 high alt map shortly thereafter.

Either way let me know!

OK so I own a 2008 STI big deal lol. I am a under the table worker at a performance shop and thus far we have found a GT spec Header and up pipe that work and have fabbed a Down pipe and exhaust that are working. We are still trying to find a reflash besides cobb and are also working on a new fuel system so we can put on my garrett GT32R twin scroll with a front mount and some other goodies. Should anyone be able to help hit me up or if anyone has questions about mods the same applies.

Now before you start posting, please keep the following in mind:

1. Your car is brand new. Yes, it's just a new year, but for all intents and purposes, it might as well be a Jeep Cherokee as pretty much 100% of the car is new.
2. Will XXX fit my car? Probably not. The turbo is different, the intercooler is different, the exhaust is different, etc.
3. When will manufacturers start making XXX parts? We don't know, please bug the manufacturers.
4. I found XXX parts that will fit, can I bolt them up? Your best bet is to wait for engine management before you start bolting up things. Each car has something called open/closed loop fueling issues mandated by the EPA that can negatively affect vehicle modifications. The wise/safe course of action is to wait for engine management then modify. Yes, you can probably safely get away with simple mods, but the smart thing to do is engine management first, then parts.
5. But I found out that XXXX from an older Subaru will fit on my 2008. Well post that crap here and we'll update this for all to see.

If anyone sees anything to add, please post. The genesis behind this post is to prevent 9000 posts of will XXX fit my 2008. This is an annual annoyance and I'm hoping this may stem some of that.

Old parts that WONT fit:

Exhausts
TMICs
FMICs

Old parts that MAY fit:

pulley????
downpipe????
*your part here*

Old pars that WILL fit:
