Default Hybrid build take #2---Mission Success!!

After two builds, I have finally finished my hybrid and I am excited to report the patient is doing very well. We have zero leaks of any kind, compression is good, and the cooling system is functioning normally. Loaded the valet map on it for break in with the AP 2.0 and have so far put 200 miles on it without incident. Though I am not out of the woods yet, I want to once again, give a BIG THANKS to DrinkAV8, Davenow, Mick-the-ginge, and Subetek for all their help. The car has power all over the place and I no longer need to downshift on steep grades, even in its untuned form!

After break in, it is off to Topspeed for the final tune! Cannot wait to see what it throws down!

Thanks again to everyone! Oh, and I do NOT want to forget Tristan at www.thekingofparts.com for all his help, his great deals, and his impeccable service! You are a lifesaver dude!

Although every thing is running great or at least seems good, only have 30 miles, change the fluid went for a freeway cruize and popped a 0302 and 0303 cylinder 02 and 03 a missfire was detected, i was driving fine before the freeway and then gave her about quarter throttle all the way to about 4800 and shifted then to 5200 and shifted, no lights nothing then at cruize in abou 80 mph check engine, anybody have a clue!

Not sure, maybe valve lash set too tight? Did you have head work done?

Congrats, Acostafan, and good luck on the remainder of the break-in period.

Which head gasket/compression ratio did you choose? I'm still waffling trying to decide which way to go with that.

I'm running the stock STI HG. I'm probably about 9-9.1 in the compression. We had to have the heads milled about 7-8 thousandths. So couple that with the 2.5l block and that's my best guess. It's got torque all over. I love it!

Got about 275 miles on her now, still going strong!

congrats! I'm TRYING to drop in the engine as we speak (just EJ257 + WRX heads)...having a hell of a time getting the block and the tranny to match up...any advice? Just need to close about .75" to the bell housing.

Did you make sure you put the, crap I can't remember what it's called.....um, the dowel that releases the clutch fork...did you put that back in? Are the studs at the bottom of the bellhousing in and/or lined up?

550 miles, no issues! I'm thinking about flashing to stage 1 or 2. Cobb told me it would be OK but I'm not so sure. Couldn't get a hold of them today(they must have been slammed) to talk to them some more about it. Sticking with the valet map for now to be safe.
