Default Headlight Adjustment Switch

Can you get the part number for the headlight adjustment switch and can you suggest a vendor who can get it?

Default Another question...

Anybody know of other factory or aftermarket console switches that will exactly fit in this size location? I am looking for a simple rocker on/off for the laser jammer and would like to mount either in the same location here or in the center console above the powered mirror controls?

Thanks!

You can do what I did and get a simple rocker switch from Radio Shack and drill the stock blanks to make it fit.

True, true... and it did get a circular one with the jammer that might fit in the cover but thought I could disquise it better...

Guess I was really looking for a Cruise or Fog light look alike that would fit that size...

Thanks for the advice.

I believe this switch control the height of the adjustable HID headlight on JDM STI.

You are correct on that and just use the provided switch without labelling it.

Go Go Go is selling the switch for $40. I'm using them for my Morettes. Is this possible?

You could get an OEM Fog Lamp Switch PN 83001FA051 From Sugar in the vendor section around 25 bucks. It will fit anywhere there is a blank or one of those coin holder things.

That switch is a headlight leveler, required in Europe (and maybe Japan) to allow you to adjust your ligths so you don't blind oncoming traffic. They were on all the cars I've rented in Europe; lots of their roads are so narrow you don't want to be affecting oncoming traffic's view like all those overwatted blue-bulbed boneheads Stateside.

HIDs overseas actually require *automatic* leverers to keep the blinding from happening. The manual ones are cute, but I'm sure they would confuse the heck out of most drivers.

As for a switch, I thought of using a blank spot to mount a Hella switch but the face of the blank is slightly rounded so it's better to try and get an extra Subaru switch and wire it up yourself.

And when you've done that, post instructions so I can do the same.

So, what good is the switch without the harness?

You wire it in to the headlight adjuster motor on your Morrete's, JDM STi lights or any other headlight that has an adjustment motor.

Has anyone figured out the wiring for the switch? Is there a separate control box required? Are the connectors similar to anything else on the car, (harvestable from a junkyard US subie wiring harness, for example?)

TaiChih I will want one in a couple of weeks. I need to make sure that my Morretes (shipping as we speak) have a self leveling motor or an adjusting motor.

I'll be installing my Morettes this weekend. I'll let you know if they are auto-leveling or not. I think they are. The switch is cool enough too fill one of the many blank spots in my interior.

The switch won't control the lights without some kind of control box. There is a digital circuit in the aiming motor looking for some kind of signal from the box. The switch is just a dumb four position selector.
Nobody here has ever figured out how to get a control box as far as I can tell.

Default anyone got a euro shop manual?

Or call a UK Subie dealer, tell them you are importing the car and adding the leveler, and need to know what parts you need.

The controller should be fairly simple, I just hope it is stand alone and not part of the ECU or something.

~cheers
