Default A few wheel/tire fitment questions..

Im looking at buying 18x9.5 +40 wheels and cant decide on what tire to get. I dont want to be to streched with a 225 or 235. Should i go with a 245/35 or 255/35? Im on tein ss coilovers w/pillow ball mounts. Also, is the 40+ offset going to hit the coil?

Im trying not to have a whole lot of camber. I dont want to be in the -2.5/-4.
I posted in the wheel/tire section and have had no luck and searched but cant find the answers to the tire questions.

Thanks,
Mike

I will have to roll and pull fender for this to work.

245/35 would be very close to stock height/circumference and won't mess with your speedometer. you would probably also be alright with 245/40
idk about the back spacing.

I have that size with 245/40/18 sti though. I needed to roll the rears and very slight pull maybe 10mm. I only run 1.8-2 degrees of camber in the rear. You should not hit the strut. My other wheels are 18x9.5 +44 and I don't hit the strut. Though very close 3-5 mm.

Front I rolled but my wheels need a 10mm spaced to clear the brembos. I can run from -4 to -1 and be fine. I think if you just have a +40 and no spaced you'll be ok. It really just depends on how stiff your suspension is and how low you are.

If I bought new tires I would get 255/35/18 but I have an sti so gearing is different.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for your input. My coilovers are maxed out on the lower setting. Im curious if that will be a problem with rubbing with a tire that is not streched. I just dont want to have to rise my car.

A 245 on a 9.5 would look perfect, a 255 may have a slight bulge which looks amazing as well. I have 235 on a 9.5 and it is ever so slightly stretched

255 on a 9.5" wheel. Don't have a profile view but you get the idea. It really depends on tire. As fitment depends on wheel. Not all offset and wheel spokes are the same. Test fit is about the only sure way to know if the wheel will fit and not rub. There are way too many variables.

Falkens run narrow. Achilles run true. Federals run wide.

You also forget to mention that you're not slammed and rolled your fenders right?

I'm with Jason on the matter there are way too many variables when it comes to wheel/tire fitment.
