Whoa brotha, calm down!

Jorge (RiftsWRX) and tspec1 have the fastest non-stock autos. Those guys are mid-13's and lower! There was a person with an auto that posted stock time slips. He ran a 14.7 in the quarter I believe. 0-60 is around 6.5 seconds for us but it's not unheard of to hear better times.

A torque converter upgrade will make it as fast as a manual in ETs, 0-60, and the 60' but trap speeds will always be slower because of the converter lockup (I think, Jorge?).

Love your auto man! For encourgement, I hung on the ass of an older M3 the other night from a stoplight. He had major spinnage but he got a grip and pulled slightly ahead before my boost kicked in. But the important part was that he couldn't get away. If I had a better converter he would have been hanging on my ass. A cop flicked on his lightbar in a parking lot across the street so I didn't get a rematch. Thank you cop for not pulling me over!

dig up the "everyone give props to your 4EAT" thread. you'll find tons of useful info on the ATs, and I think you'll be a lot happier with it. I started the thread out od "stick envy," so I think its a good place for you to go. and yeah. love your 4EAT. there's a lot you can do that MTs can't. you know you have a Torsen center diff right? is that a smile I see?

(This comment was used in a previous post, but I felt it appropriate to post it here too)

As you read this I am doing an extensive search in the Transmission section to find out what can be done to make the 4AT car perform better. I am seriously thinking of selling or trading my 4AT for a manual. I have done several mods to my car and I legally raced another WRX (manual) that had only a few mods and he stayed with me the whole way. I mean our cars were neck and neck.

I have owned an LT1 auto and had no problems keeping up with my 5 speed friends. Even in the Supras, the autos are just as fast as the manuals. I just donít get it, so that is why I am going to spend the better part of my day reading threads in the transmission section.

get an upgraded TC. autos can multiply torque and sticks cannot. a manual has no chance against a good auto in straight-line acceleration. look up Level Ten. they have good tranny mods.l a new TC is cheaper than a new tranny. get synthetic fluid too.
