Default Dyno Day

What's up guys. I recently went to my first dyno day with the local subie group here in Charlotte, NC. I had a great time, but my car wasn't quite running up to par. Let me give a quick run-down of my setup as this will help with determining my problem.

02 wrx sedan: cobb stg.2 (93 map) catless, txs dp, Apexi N1 cb, SPT Intake. It will help to mention that I have not yet gutted the up pipe as I haven't had the time, so I know my numbers will suffer ever so slightly.

Even though I got on the dyno at about 9:30, it was already something like 92 or 93 in the dyno room. My car only sat in the parking lot for about 30 minutes before the run (just enough time to let the crappy stock intercooler bake for a while). My best run was the one below at 208/185 hp/tq. I was kinda dissappointed with those numbers, but given the heat and the fact that I still have a catted up pipe makes me feel a little better about them.

My main problem is this huge bump at 5k....WTF is going on there? You can see on the A/F ratio that it was a little sketchy through that section. I think that I possibly got a tank of bad gas the day before and the spot at 5k is where the cpu started pulling timing due to detonation. Is this a possibility..? What else could it be?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Matt

U only made 208 at the wheels????????? WTF ur turboback and cobb stg 2? Umm dude ur numbers should be higher. I wonder whats going on. If its bad gas ur worried about try some race gas to clean things out and then give it a shot. I did this when i had my civic and it improved dramatically. Other than that explain more about this 5 K bump.

All I can tell you is to look at the graph. I don't know exactly what it is, so the only explanation that I could come up with was that I got a bad tank of gas and the car was pulling timing due to detonation.

I should mention that this was on a Superflow dyno and that in comparison, the numbers for a dynojet (I think..) would be about 225/210

The car leans out a bit and you make more power in that spot. The car is running pig rich from 5000 rpm on. I would just get the car protuned and you should be all set.

That's most likely a bit of a boost fluctuation. What do stock cars put down on this dyno?

Embarrasingly enough, the only stocker that showed up was another bugeye that put down 190/18x hp/tq. The guys at 3SX said that it was a freak though because normally they only make 165-170 hp.

There was another guy that flashed a map with a Tactrix cable and made 217/200 hp/tq with a stage 2 setup. There was also one other person running a stage 2 AP that put down 223/210 (somewhere around there). I am not that disappointed with my numbers, I was just more concerned with the weird spot right at 5k.
