Default Check engine light and Cruse control light!!!

I swapped out my exhaust last weekend. I was driving my car today... nothing to aggressive. I think i was in 3rd gear going about 50 at a 4500 when i felt a little serge. The next thing i know the check engine light and cruse control light came on. Is this an ECU issue? I was going to get a flash this weekend. I hope i didn't f anything up. Any comments?

Everytime I get a CEL the damn cruise control light comes on. You can go get an OBDII reader and see what the code is. If you don't have one you can go to your local auto parts store and they have ones you can borrow.

My car (04 STi) does that "surge" thing every once in awhile, but I never get CEL's from it. Does anyone else ever have that problem, or have any idea what it is? It's like a hiccup.

It's because your exhaust sensors are reading more because of the increased flow of your new exhaust(assuming you changed out your downpipe). You need to get a tune/flash to fix the CEL, not to mention make the car function correctly.

any CEL will disable the cruise control, which is why it flashes. If you didn't know that already.

Buy a Cobb AP, I had the same problem when I put on my Catless TBE without any EM.

Probably not. But I'll bet you 10$ that its the CEL code for high flowing rear o2.

(i.e. get a tune)

I had the same problem. If you have the money... get a COBB AP to get your car reflashed, get some gauges, and get it dyno'd. The CEL code is most likely due to the high flow.
