I own a 2002 WRX and I just recently picked up a new ride. 2004 cobra convertible. 516hp/530tq @ the wheels (so it kinda relates to the ppb forum). 12,000 miles only. 2 inch drop, stock 17's replaced with 18's, ported supercharger, custom exhaust, pulleyed, chipped, and all that good stuff. Its not super fast...but its pretty fast, especially compared to the subaru. I am having quite a time with it learning how to launch it, since first gear is pretty much useless, and 2nd gear is prone to throwing you sideways. THe subaru is garaged until the winter
. Might this be a good time to do a bigger turbo on the subaru?...i think so . ![]() ![]()

Very nice car! My buddy had a black '03 coupe. I rode in it when he had it tuned; all I can say is wow.

Nice car!!! Once you get to a certain power level the stock tires are worthless though. Unless your running DR all the time it kinda one big burnout.

My good friend has a built 03 with a whipple thats puts down 600whp. 1st&2nd =useless. 3rd=maybe. 4th=OMG. Not realy a good DD, although thats what he uses it for. Still, for a 25 year chassis not too bad!

You know you're in PPB when someone says 516WHP is "not super fast."

Throw the car on a dyno and see what she makes.. Check the AFR's too.. I can see that the car still has the stock 39lb injectors, which are maxed at 470whp, so if your making that much, she might be a tad lean. Aside from that, nice car dude, really clean.

Looks sweet.. I was at the track one time when there was a mustang meeting there.. And there were about 6 or 7 Cobras. I think the slowest time I saw was a 12.4. Most of them were in the 11s.. traps were'nt incredibly high but I was impressed.
I talked to one guy that was running high 11s and he said all he had was a pulley, a tune, intake and exhuast. have fun with it, you probably need a sete of e.t streets or something if you really want it to hook up. engine bay looks really nice! |

Yup that is my car in the magazine. Although, the car wasn't mine when it was in the magazine. Dean, who got it in the magazine is the fella I bought it from, real stand up guy. He gave me a really nice deal on it, and I just love the car because I don't really have to do much to it, its pretty much perfect imo Well...I guess I could throw a bigger supercharger on it :P. Anyways, I feel really blessed having this car, I love it, and although not quite as classy as say a new vette, its damn good for 25 years old
. I was damn lucky that he took such good care of it, 12,000 miles for a 2004 is real good, he was an older gentleman who mainly went to mustang meetings and shows with it. I don't think it was abused very much which is great. |

Wow awesome looking Cobra man, Im a huge fan of Cobras. Not a fan of domestics at all, however that thing is just a brutal vicious beast, you can't not respect it. Enjoy eating those tires!
