Default Codes for ODB-II scanner output

I found these and revamped them into an easy to read Adobe doc.

Here's the link: Enjoy!

Readers should be aware that the list above contains only those codes which can be issued by North American 2002 Imprezas.

Actually according to this site here:
http://www.batauto.com/Subaru.html

The codes in the doc above are general for all subi's. You have to scroll down to the bottom of this page to see the codes above but they are marked "Subaru Specific OBDII Codes"

I have reviewed both and they seem to match.

There is a ton of cool info there too, how to test your car (actual hookup) and also codes for older subi's.

minx, you somehow got the order of codes P0445 and P0447 reversed.

That BAT Auto Technical page does indeed describe the list as Subaru specific, but they are incorrect. First, all powertrain codes below P1000 have standardized meanings. For example, a P0128 always means a thermostat problem was detected, regardless of whether it's issued by a Mustang or a WRX. And second, as I pointed out above, the list is comprehensive only for North American 2002 Imprezas, not all OBD-II Subarus. It doesn't include some codes issued by H6 Outbacks, for instance.

How do I know? I compiled this list myself and published it in this thread: http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthr...threadid=99834. A month later, I updated that list to add P0457, which had been undocumented in the Service Manual. BAT Auto Technical must have downloaded their copy during that first month the list was available.

I tried to left-click on their page to see when it was last changed but instead of a menu I got this message

Jon, to defeat the right click crap all you need to do is disable java scripting in your browser. tools -> internet options -> security tab -> custom level.

thanks for all the useful info on the codes.

Thanks for letting me know!

I knew I joined this club for a reason. I have learned more about my car in the last month than I've known about it this whole year. Woohoo!
