That's the one problem I have with the classes as defined by SCCA.....no difference for horsepower or real "stock" rally suspensions as in the STi. They managed to lock out a whole slew of "old school" competitors with it. I stopped running my Brat for that reason and upgraded to the Impreza. I'm not where JRach is (he beats me by 5 seconds a run or more in my car) but I do enjoy beating up on the WRX's and other more powerful cars in PA when I can (not always).

I don't think you have anything to worry about, as your skill will beat my bells and whistles for a long time to come, and I don't think that the STI's slammed suspension counts as rally suspension. Just watch me try to get through the gate at Straddleline without bottoming out :-)

Just curious, by "lock out", do you mean that the rules would put your Brat into M4 where it would face stage rally-prepped cars, or is it not able to fit in any class?

Jacob
My Brat would run in M4 by virtue of the LSD I have installed. If I removed the LSD and re-installed an open rear diff, I would be running in PA since I have aggressive tires. If I went to non-agressive tires I could run in StockAWD and then run against any StockAWD Mitsubishi, WRX, Impreza, Talon, etc. Giving up 100+ horsepower in the bargain. I think I could place in the top 20% if I have a good day and the rain gods smile on me (mud is a great equalizer) but I don't think I could be top three material.

My whole point is that with the classes as currently defined we vitually eliminate any older "run what you brung" cars which would bring a whole slew of people into the sport if they didn't have to spend upwards of $3000 or $4000 to be at least a little competitive. Once they are hooked on the sport and learn to drive competitively in the dirt, they could then upgrade to a more competitive car if they choose to do so.

Nice videos!

On a side note this is actually Adam's Impreza L. There was also my black RS that ran in the afternoon.

Did you say you still have more video clips to upload? These are great! If you have more, please send them on when you have time.

I forgot to forward the results from the office. I'll try to post up the pdf tomorrow sometime. The html version will take a bit longer.
I've got some last minute stuff to work on for the rally car for this weekend.

Cheers,
Erik

*edit* Kim copied the 7/22/07 event results.

I will see if I can get proper results. I apologize for the confusion.

More news... I've gotten what I THINK are the points standings for 2007 (not including this last event).

Eric, the events aren't in order on the points standings. They're just a rough calculation of the NUMBER of events in which you participated. If someone only entered one event, it shows up in the first column. It's a byproduct of the way I did the sorting.

The overall position for the year should be correct unless someone changed classes and it wasn't correctly noted in the scores, or if I made a mistake copying the event positions.

If anyone thinks that their scores are incorrect, please PM me (as some of you already have) and post here to let me know. I'm doing what I can to make sure that it's all correct.

Thanks for your help,
Erik

Yikes, If that's the way they are sorted, how can I compare them to the results to be sure they're correct? That certainly explains the anomaly I found and sent you a note about.

No worries Ed. Like I said earlier, I'm going to go back through them as soon as I get a chance. I'll likely go event by event and make sure that everything is correct. Please double check me though as it shows that someone is actually reading the results.

I'll keep you guys as informed as I can.

I will attempt to get the new standings posted tomorrow night. Tonight I have to put stainless brakelines, a new fuel tank and the rear subframe/hubs/etc into my rally car so that I can participate in the Garfield County Fair this weekend to promote the Wild West rally!

Also, the next WA rally-x is October 20th, 2007. I believe it's at the ORV park. Please check the website as the event gets closer for more information.
