Default 7cm FP Red + EWG on C16!

I tuned this car previously but we did a very mild tune on it. This time the customer got some C16 and asked me to push it to the limits of the stock block understanding that there is no guarantee how long it'll hold. After about 4 hours of tuning this thing made ridiculous power along with the absolute best response I've ever felt in a car with this much power.

Here's the mod list:
7cm FP red
UR up-pipe / tial 38mm EWG
aps 3.5" TBE
Hallman pro rx MBC
aps inlet
aps tumbler deletes
perrin FMIC / blow through MAF pipe
DW 740cc injectors
WB fuel pump
aps fuel rails
ACT 6 puct clutch

*Stock headers
*Stock Engine

And here's the plot on C16:

Remembering that Stock STI's make about 215-225whp, this car has doubled the stock power output which would put it around 600bhp! This power level is amazing in its own right considering its a bone stock engine, but what really amazed me about this setup is the amazing response. Full boost is reached just before 4000RPM and throttle response above 4500RPM is almost instantaneous. It seems the quick spool and snappy response of the 7cm housing combined with the free flowing EWG is a true winning combination. This car spools like a .63 a/r GT30R but makes the power of a .82. I think this is now my favorite bolt-on turbo and definitely rivals many rotated setups. This is a great setup for both drag racing and road course work.

To give you an idea of the power and response, rowing through the gears, the car lights up 2nd gear and chirps both 3rd and 4th!

BTW... I'm a little excited, can you tell?

Thanks
-- Ed

That's alot of power, very nice job.. I think this is one of the best dynocharts i've seen for a red, i dont think i've ever seen one spool that fast..

This doesn't seem right Ed.

Just a day ago, Junior posted a graph of a green making 400whp w/ 93pump. The green is a 49lb/min turbo and the Red is 55lb/min iirc.

You gained 50whp over that green by using C16. I wonder what that green could do with C16?

I don't think you pushed the envelope too far Ed!

Ed's dyno software reads comparitive to Gruppe-s' old Mustang dyno if that puts it into perspective. Pump gas Greens barely break 300whp.

Nice work Ed, very nice spool for such large turbo.

Ed, Thanks again for taking the time and tunining the crap out of the car. Like Ed said the car is just a beast, 1-5 gear pulls are over very fast. It is downright scary, especially when you are in the passenger seat. Thanks again Ed! I will call you from the track next Wed and let you know how she does.

here we go again! mind you that 450whp on this dyno is good for 130mph traps!

Now now... that hasn't been proven yet. But 275whp is good for 107-108mph, 315whp is good for 112-113mph and 335whp is good for 115-116mph. My guess on this car would be high 120's with some mad shifting skillz

No porting was done to the up-pipe. The UR pieces vary in quality, mine just happened to be a good one.

Same car from this post.. I removed the "extra" correction that was used previously on the dyno.. Made the same power it did when I tuned it on the DynoJet... Car has always made good power.. The dips are like Clark mentioned small shifts between load sites.. You dont feel them on the street.
The, a few posts down, XXChris was tuning on the same dyno with a 1.20 CF.

Why are "tuners" using correction factors to inflate their "good work".

I was getting the 1-2 no problem... its the 4-5 shift that scares me every time.
