Default 2006 WRX with VF-39 tubro upgrade Dyno results (Land & Sea Dyno)

Dyno: Land & Sea

Car: 2006 WRX 15k miles, Hess 93 octane

Power Mods:
VF39 turbo
Sti TMIC
ERZ downpipe
SPT catback
Gruppe-S lightweight crank pulley
Injen Cold Air Intake
GT spec headers

Car was tuned by Mike @ TDC tuning in Concord,NH

Final results were:

HP~ 279 TQ~ 330
Boosting @ 20 psi tapering to about 16psi at redline.

In a way I was disappointed with the HP numbers because I have seen others making a lil more hp with slightly less mods but it is offset by the very high TQ I got so I guess Im satisfied in the long run. The other thing I noticed is how smooth driving it is now that is until you get to 3k rpms where the car feels amazing (spent like 3 minutes trying to figure out a word to describe that). I also like the fact that boost doesnt come til a little later than my previous stage 2 reflash. I got tired of taking off at a light during normal driving conditions and feeling the surge in power coming so damn early (2k-2500k). The other thing I noticed was how much more power the car has after 5000k rpms where the factory turbo would simply just die. On the way home I had the car in 5th gear doing about 70 mph and floored it and it climbed up to 100 with no problem and passed it as if I was going 40-60, although I cut it short at 110. This should hopefully keep me calm til the new STi hatchback comes out and I can decide wether to get it or not. Last thing is even though my system is non catted and I am running header it seems to be really really quiete almost to the point that it seems like its still just a SPT catback and nothing else.

I will post the dyno chart as soon as I can figure out how.

why are you disappointed, comparing numbers from OTHER dynos? the fact is your car may not have come in perfect either, tuners do the best they can with the circumstances given. Some cars just dont make power, yours may be one of them

^^^ LOL, I was ABOUT to say the same.

If you compare mod per mod dyno per dyno with other cars, then you can tell if you're numbers are off or not.

If not, be happy with your crakin' VF39

Maybe I worded it wrong I was basically expecting more horsepower because I have spoken to other guys with practically identical mods that got tuned at the same shop and like I said they were making better HP numbers but not in TQ so it balances out. I gotta say though I love the way the car feels. Oh I actually made a mistake on the boost it is actually hitting peak boost at 18.3 psi. If the turbo cracks oh well Im sure it wont be the first one. Its just something to keep me cool til I make up my mind on the '08 STi.
