The wife and I drove from Benning to the port in Bellingham WA, took the ferry to Haines AK, drove through Canada and AK to get to Anchorage. I must say, as long of a drive, it was worth every second. Got to see a lot of cool stuff that I normally would not have had the chance to.

Probably the best place I went TDY was Rome, Italy while on a security detail for the Sec State Hillary Clinton. Partied with the MSG's and some British Royal Navy guys. Epic night!

On a side note: Ordered me a 13 Sti 5door last week. Should be here in March! Can't f**king wait!!

Job: Was 11C for a short time. then Re-Classed to EOD.

I am Currently in Afghan with ODA 3111. If im not doing EOD work im running the 60mm mortar by myself. Talk about a heavy pack..

Edit*
Ive had 3 STis. started with an '06. Did some suspension mods and STG2. then bought an '08. Just stage 2 with a few things here and there. It was a love/Hate with the hatch, but i soooo miss the sound it made. Catless DP and P&L quad tip catback. and now i have an '05 STi with a DOM 2.5xtr. 340whp 350wtq @20psi.
I also just bought a 1993 Supra. TT 6spd Hardtop with TRD widebody. BPU++ 420whp

I just bought my first subaru. An 05 Impreza 2.5RS in Aspen white. It's an AT but I could pass up the deal. I love it but still long for a 5 spd. Still learning how to work on it.

Job: Airborne & Ranger qualified Cavalry Officer, Plt Leader in 3-7 Cav then patrolling the East/West German border. That was after OCS, I initially enlisted for the 2nd Ranger BN and went through Infantry OSUT before OCS, jump school and ranger school. Border Cav at the time was considered one of the most challenging assignments, I consider it a walk in the park compared to what some of you experienced in later years.

Probably the most interesting event was that I was present with a group of Cav officers at the dedication of the Ranger Memorial during the 4oth anniversary of D-Day, and we had a chance to speak with the Rangers who came back for the event. Reagan, Mitterrand and Thatcher were there, and Walter Cronkite was broadcasting from a casement right next to us.

Default Are Subarus used in any capacity in the military?

Are Subarus used in any capacity in the military? Or this is thread intended to be about military people who happen to own Subarus? Either way, please let me know if any of your Subarus have over 100,000 miles (160,000 kms) on them. Please cite year, model, and number of miles (kms). Please also visit the Subaru High Mileage Club website at www dot subaruhighmileageclub dot com. Plus we have a Facebook group by the same name. (There is also a FB page which is ours, but that is not as active as the "group")

I was in Iraq for 19 months from 2007-2009, FOB Rustimyah which is in Baghdad.
I would say that FT polk was my best duty station because I had my first subie there and they have amazing roads to rally on there.
