i have a garage on base so that easy. i was going to put the car on jack stands while i was gone and take the wheels off it. the big thing is going to be getting someone to come over and start it up for me and make sure everything stays lubracated.

i kinda like it here...i am in the iso dock so...its not so bad...not really too many deployments...not too many 12 hour days for the most part...and i am no longer the bottom of the food chain, so i don't have to do anymore "go for" duties, i have my own "go for's" now...its good...just no subaru's here...at all...

Also, tell us of any "good" TDY's you may have experienced: Well 45 days in Pattaya Beach was certainly a experience, however the most memorable one was the last long TDY I took..we left Andrews AFB and spent 3 nights in Istanbul, then 2 nights in Ankara, then headed to Zagreb (Croatia), then off to Paris for 3 nights..then wrapped up our trip in Brussels (Belgium). It was a CAPSTONE taking the new 1 stars on their world tour to learn foreign policy. I spent 3 years traveling all over the world teaching cargo loading to USAF, Army, Navy & Marines which was a blast..too many bases to list.

I had my retirement on June 20th, now in Oklahoma enjoying some time off..and trying to get a new job

They had a class there that I needed to take, so...its cool with me...I made like $700 profit off of the trip. Anytime I get to go somewhere completely free, only do like 2 hours of work 5 days a week and then go home, and get paid like $700 profit to do it is just fine by me. Plus, like I said...the car scene there is soooo much better than here. Another thing...have you ever been to dyess...there isn't really a whole lot here at all, so a chance to go somewhere different is always appreciated.

Not trying to stray off topic here, but I have a question for you guys/girls in the military. One thing you hear in the news is how American forces are so streached out right now with both being in Iraq an afganistan. The last rough #'s I heard are about 130K in Iraq and 30+K in afganistan (mainly spec ops) But in 1993 the US had over 500K troops in Kuwait. Then where are the other roughly 250-300K troops? It was just a thought I had. Anyone shine some light on this.
Again much thanks to all the forces.

your are off on that "mainly special ops." and during the initial invasion in the gulf during 93 there were a lot more troops recalled/activated from the reserves then now.

I didnt mean 30K spec ops, but there is a huge majority of them over there. Green berets, seals, marine recon/force recon, a/f combat controlers and maybe some delta here and there. Many bad mofo's. Not discreaditing any type of infantry at all. I give you military people all the credit in the world. I am an only son and I'm 26, probably a little too old. I really wish I would have joined when I was younger. It really sucks looking back and regreting not doing somthing

27? Yea, but I'd be the old guy Plus if I inlisted, my mom would probably kill me before I left. And knowing myself I would want to go and fight. Not sit in the rear
