Default 11.49 or faster? What cage is legal?

What cage are you running that they let you run on the track? autopower? custom?

The reason I ask is I have aquired all my parts and I have the 2.71 stroker with ported heads, cams, ect, and a gt35r .86 housing perrin kit. I also got a exedy twindisc.

In other words hopefully I should be in the low 11's or better after Tim Bailey gets it tuned in.

Look at the NHRA sport compact rule book it tells you exactly what you need to pass tech. You can down load it on line to boot.
http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2007/rules/index.html

You don't need a full cage at 11.49 you need an NHRA approved roll bar if the car has a stock body and unmodified floor pan and firewall.

You need a full cage at 10.00 and quicker or > 135 trap speed if I recall correctly in stock body cars.
See General regulations items 4.10 and 4.11.

That's right Larry, a 5-point is only needed in our cars till 9.99 or 136mph, whichever comes first. S&W race cars sells weld in cages (8 point roll bars) for our cars that meet NHRA specs and thats what I have in mine. ALLOT of modifications need to be done to get it to fit nice but it's a great starting point if a custom cage is out of the question. I opted for front bar swing-outs (NHRA legal) and love it.

Hey Steve --- with the numbers you are running you may need to plan on your full cage upgrade. Nice to know what bar you have in yours as I have not had the chance to check out the car this year.

(or race for ET only and stand on the brakes in the traps to stay below 135)

Sorry I should have been more specific, yes I understand all that is needed is a roll bar BUT the autopower doesnt meet the regulations. I already have a rulebook as I used to race alot a few years ago in domestic stuff.

I guess my question really is, what or is there a company that sells a setup thats track leagal? I know I will never be faster than 10.00et but I am pretty sure I will break the 11.49 barrier.
