Default How long can a dealership "review" a warranty claim?

I put in a warranty claim about a month ago. It was actually two parts. Part of the warranty is something that was screwed up from the factory that will be turned into Subaru. The other half is something that one of the dealer's techs screwed up. I've been very patient and I called again today and it seems like there has been no progress with my claim. I'm getting tired of waiting. Are there any time restraints with warranty items.

Yea...

Whats the issue? I would have called SOA after about a week, they at least seemed concerned when I had to contact them.

if you paid for a repair that is covered under warranty, say under extreme circumstances were you could not get the car to a dealer or it was not safe to get the car to the dealer, you need submit those claims in writing.

Subaru Of America
Attn: Customer Dealer Services
P.O. Box 6000
Cherry Hill, NJ

this information is in your owners manual warranty section.

You must also have all the old parts saved for inspection if required.

thats what I get out of this all.

Sorry, I kinda forgot about this thread.

Here is the deal. My car has some fitment issues with the doors which is causing other troubles (rust) and it's only going to get worse. While my car was at the dealership getting looked at for this problem one of the mechanics tried to align the doors and in the process he put a big dent in my door.

So, basically the door alignment issue and the rust it's caused is a warranty issue with SOA and the dent is a warranty deal with the dealership. They have had a quote for repairs that I got over a month ago. I called again last week and the Service manager said he'd get on it and call me this week. He did say that he thought the estimate was high and he wanted to try to Painless Dent Removal the dent. But even if they can get the dent out with PDR, the panel still has to be painted because of the rust.

I'm getting tired of waiting. I don't know if he's playing games or if my stuff has just been sitting on his desk. I get the feeling that he knows they screwed up and he just wants to fix it half-assed on the cheap. I hate to get SOA involved but this is getting rediculous.

.....did you take any pictures of the damged/affected areas that you could share?

It's just my personal opinion, but I would choose PDR (by a reputable tech) over a re-paint if possible. I guess it would all depend on the extent of the damage from the chipped paint/rust caused by the door alignment issue. If it was confined to the edge(s), there may be alternatives to re-painting the entire panel.

Most of the time I'd prefer PDR as well but the edge of the door is far too bad any sort of touch up. It's going to have to be repainted as far as the edge of the door goes. As for PDR'ing the dent, I've seen some pretty good PDR guys but I don't know if any of them could get this out.

I don't have any pictures of the dent but just imagine a dent the exact size of your palm.
