Default Broke the Heart Breaker's Heart (tuned by Clark)

My car got tuned by Clark today @ Dynamic Autosports in 100*+ temps. tuned on 91oct with a fuel additive called "Nitrous Formula" @ 18psi. it took him less than an hour!!!!

here are my mods:
2007 STi
AVO450 Turbo
TXS TBE(highflow) w/ Prodrive axleback
Deatschwerks 740cc inj.
255 walbro f/p
K&N intake w/ perrin turbo inlet
stock TMIC
perrin crank pulley
Koyo Radiator
Setrab oil cooler
ProDrive boost solenoid
Cobb AP v.2

the power numbers of my previous tune on this dyno are 284AWHP and about 246torque(which orirginally made 332AWHP/319ft. lbs. on Yimi Sport's DynoJet)

sorry it's blurry. it made 334AWHP and 316ft.lbs.torque. look at that curve & HP just doesn't want to give up

here's a link to a thread of people who also got tuned by Clark on the same dyno earlier this year(stage 2 sti's average 240-250AWHP):

Bad-ass #'s Kev!

Yah, considering you run on Piss California 91 Octane, and it was 100+ degree weather today, and it was on the legendary "Heartbreaker" Mustang Dyno at Dynamic! LOL.

The #'s are just awesome!

Congrats!

Very nice. What other turbos does the AVO450 compare to?

What happens if that fuel additive is discontinued or if the solution is somewhat diluted in the future? Wouldn't if have been better to get tuned on straight 91 and then add a fuel additive to prevent knock?

this is a 2007 Sti.
it's suppose to raise the octane a few grades. which looks like it works.

the avo450 is comparable to a smaller trim GT30.
i have already been tuned on 91 by Tim Bailey. i have the cobb v2 and have about (3) 91 oct maps by him. while getting tuned by him he preached about this fuel additive that he swore by. he tuned a guys car on 91 and tuned the same guy's car with this "torco" additive and saw some impressive gains.
since they don't sell the additive in stores i was referred to a website that carries them. long story short, i was notified about Clark coming into town kinda last minute and the people that sells the torco stuff couldn't get me their product in time for the tune, so i went went with their alternative "new" product which is claimed to be as good as the torco stuff. you can read more on their site:
http://www.need4speedpower.com/torco.html

if you want further info..call the number and ask for Brett.

so to answer your question, i would just get retuned if or when the additive is discontinued. "Nitrous Formula" is a new product introduced by the Australian's so i'm hoping that it wouldn't be discontinued too soon.

So Dynamic has a subbie tuner now? Do they do protunes? I called like a month and a half ago and they said they weren't doing subbie tunes yet.

Hey Erexxx,

Nope, Dynamic doesn't have a Tuner. This was a private Tuning Event, where we brought Clark Turner down to So Cal.

Sigh, I wish we had something better than the oxy 91 piss-poor gas here in California.

No, we don't have a choice of 91 vs. 93.

Oh, and how could we forget...

HUGE Props to *THE* Uber Tuner,

Clark Turner

For the great Tunes!

Besides the crazy #'s (on the Heartbreaker Mustang Dyno), the most important thing is really how it FEELS. And Kev... you were smiling non-stop for the rest of the day! LOL.

Your STi took off and it was GONE! I didn't see where you went.

Really!? wow i thought an old friend of mine used to put 93 in his vehicle no matter what...he had to go to certain stations though...Shell i think. I am blown away that cali does not have better gas.

AVO 450 uses a GT30-10 cartridge. Normal GT30 cartridge is a -12.

The backside is close to .84a/r

What's with clarks tune. Its way too smooth

must be a TXS stage 4 which is equal to a cobb stage 2. not much you can do with a td04.

can't speak for full boost at 5K RPM...lol that sucks.

Glad you like the car... Man I am tired. I just woke up at 11am.. We drove 800 miles in one day and tuned cars.

This dyno is an older Import dyne dyno. It uses two rollers. It looks like a blue dynojet It does have a eddy current load generator though and works the same as the 500SE with the same software format.

This dyno reads a stock 06 sti around 188whp. Stg 2 cars do 240 to 250whp. Dynamic said they had a couple stock STI's make right around 200 but that was the highest for a stock car. I have not tuned 22 cars on this machine so I have a pretty good feel or it.

The original tune should have been posted so you could see the gains. But the owner divulged the tuners name so there is not point to do that now. This car came in at 13 to 1 at redline on the base pulls.

I was real real happy with this car. I would estimate this car would make 380 to 400whp on a Dynojet or dynapak dyno due to the airflow numbers and logs.

THis is simply the best bolt on turbo available. I have said it before and I will say it again. Its $1800. Thats the big drawback. If it breaks its "your problem Mate" because its an Australian product. Research the horrible issues that people had with early turbine housings before making a purchase. The new housings dont seem to crack. I ran this turbo with the -15 cartridge on my JDM 2.0 SPec C motor for a year. It was my favorite setup.

I cant comment much on the octane booster. The car did not take much more timing or boost over running on reg 91. I just compared some maps. Its running about 2 degrees more, Same AFR and about 2 psi more. The addative helped but not more then 20whp.

I would be very concerned if that was my car...

Everything is way to SMOOTH... Look at the POWER.. Isn't it suppose to FALL off ?
And that AFR... who would make it so smooth...

Kick ass Clark... and congrats to the owner
