Default Bone stock 07 STI, 13.3 @ 101.5mph

Last night I went to the track with my bone stock 07 STI. I managed to run 13.3 @ 101.5 w/ 1.78 sixty foot time.

I had a better run going on another pass but the timing equipment cut out after the 1000' mark. Based on the numbers that pass was going to be a high 13.2x pass..oh well.

Temps were in the mid-low 70's, track was good, a couple of friends achieved new personal bests.

On a seperate pass I had a best sixty foot of 1.76.

Coming from RWD v8 cars (ls1 stuff) I am very impressed with this car and the performance it delivers. Obviously the STI is not a drag car, but IMO it performed well for being bone stock with 4k on it.

Good stuff man. Congrats on the time. I am also an LS1 convert. They aren't as much for drag racing as the rear-drive stuff you come from, they are much more versatile, but straight-line racing is still fun, especially when you can run a low 13 with a stock vehicle

it is much easier to get a 1.7 60 ft in the sti than the wrx.

I could only manage 1.8's in my wrx, and when I switched to a rotated setup and a different clutch i could only manage 1.9-2.0's.

But with the STi i was hitting 1.7 60 fts on my 4 or 5th pass down the track.

That's a tall order there. Maybe with meth and lots of bolt ons and a great tune - still, that's tough to do on the little VF43.

OP: forgive me, I'm NOT trying to be disrespectful, but you should have done a little better than that. The 60' you want to shoot for is 1.7, so you're right there, good job. The 8th time you want to shoot for is 8.4, so you're close. And the ¼ time you want to shoot for is 13.1.

13.3 @ 101 is just what the doctor ordered...for an '04-'06 car that has to shift to 5th to make it to the 1320. Since the '07 has 1 less shift, it's inherently .1 quicker at a minimum.

Lastly, I believe the '07 to be capable of a high 12.8 in stock form. Evidence is in the Motor Trend December '05 13.0 @ 103 run of an '06. Of course, people who take their cars to racetracks don't usually stay stock for long, I'd love to see you prove me right with that 12.8 .

I say good job brother.

I ran 13.3 @ 102 in my '05 when it was bone stock with 1.8 60fts.

Now with the extra 175hp spinning bad off the line and spinning half of second could only manage a 12.9 @ 111 w/1.9 60.

I've only run twice on the green and meth and the first run was quite funny with bogging first and then missing second gear exchange, but still managed a 15 flat @ 106 w/2.4 60 foot time.

If I can just learn to drive the car with the extra punch I will be balls deep in 12s.

Anyway, you did great with bone stock runs dude.

Actually, on the pass where the timing equipment didn't clock a 1/4th time, I was running a 8.49 in the 1/8th. It just didnt' give me a 1/4th ET or MPH. Damn timing equipment...

Oh well, I'm not disappointed in it, I've only had the car for a month..First awd car, I would say I'm getting the hang of driving it.

Also, FWIW, my ls1 "race car", it's a cam only setup, full suspension, gutted car, bla bla bla, trying to run 10.9x "cam only". I also have the bottle on the car, although with the goal of running 10.9x on motor we would have to pull a decent amount of timing to spray anything worth while. Once it goes it's 10.9x the plan is to pull timing and see how fast we can run with the stock bottomend on n2o. (yes, it will get blown up at some point...sounds fun to me!)

I have 60+ passes at the track with my STi and I can tell you that a few hundred rpm's mean nothing. What does mean something is your 60', and how fast you get it into 3rd and 5th (just 3rd for him).

OP: LS1's are wicked with a cam, 50+ hp with that one mod, right?
