Default why wont my car connect with the programs??

i have an 04 wrx. i have the tactrix cable and the white jumper. i downloaded ecuflash 1.31.1396 and enginuity 0.4.1

the problem is, none of these programs are picking up the car.. i connected the white jumper to wheres its supposed to go and connect the two green plugs. then i connected the taxtrix to where thats supposed to go and connect the usb side to the laptop.. then when i open ecuflash it doesnt give me an option to do ANYTHING..

heres a screenshot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...uflashprob.jpg

it looks like this no matter what i do.. it wont let me click "read ecu" or anything

You don't have the drivers for the Tactrix cable installed.
I can easily see that in the "error loading FTD2XX.dll" message.

You need to install the FTDI driver package.

It's in there, should've installed when you installed the software

i suggest you uninstall ecuflash and reinstall it again.

no all you need to do is when you plug in the tactrix cable is to have the computer find the drivers for you. there should be a dialog box pop up saying that new hardware was found. click the ok button it will work.

What Operating System are you running? Windows XP, Vista? I know with XP, you can block the installation of unsigned drivers, which would block the installation of the drivers you need for the cable. Typically it's set to prompt you, but I've seen some people with it set to block.
