Default housing market

How is the housing market in the Fort Worth area? Looking in to getting a house when I move back to Fort Worth and want to have an idea of what the market is doing.

Thanks
Jeremy

Right now its a buyers market. I'm not sure how much you're looking to spend, but you can definitely get a decent older home for under $135k. You can probably get a decent new home around $150k as well, depending on the area you want to live.

That's great to hear, just means I'll have more power to push the price down.

the problem is now getting loans
some friends are trying to buy a house for the first time and don't have much to put down. They're having to get 2 loans, because they can't get any one loan for more than 80% of what they're paying
but other than that, I think the whole country is a "buyers market"

sweet then your golden
our friends that are buying a house were able to get one at about $20k below what the apraisal district says the house is worth
the house had been on the market for several months and the family is trying to sell it before they go into forclosure, and kept dropping the price
you should be able to find some pretty good deals

That's pretty good for me, but bad to the sellers, but I guess it's all about smart buying.

I hope they didn't use the appraisal districts price to relate to anything. The goons at the appraisal district have no idea what a house is actually worth.

well, its also considerable lower than it "apraised" for, and much less than the couple paid for it, heck its even less than they owe on it.
they're just trying to get rid of it before forcloser
