Default Aftermarket Fog Lights - 02 RS

Has anybody found any good quality fog lamps to fit the stock locations? How hard is it to mount aftermarket lights? I am thinking about Hella 500s. Has anyone mounted Rallye 4000s in the bumper?

Thanks.

Yup! Is this what you're after?

I worked with Paul Henshall from HSL Rallysport to design and mount these. They kick a$$! You get a few odd looks, but they're worth it!

Switch,

That looks awesome! What are the stock mounts like? Did you have to manufacture a mount for the bottom lights? What about light bounce? How did you damp the vibration in the lower lights?

We manufactured an aluminum bar to mount everything to. Light bounce is not an issue as the two eurobeams in the middle are tied back to the frame of the car. You can't see from the picture but the support is there. The bar is bolted directly to the bumber frame and it's solid! You could probably lift the car by these. The side cornering lights can be angled to get past 180 degrees of coverage. Great for tight corners.

Switch you're my hero!

I've been screw'n the dog on getting my light bar done for months, now I've been inspired. Thats exactly what I was looking to do.

What did the 4000's set you back if you don't mind me asking? And ofcourse, where'd you get them?

Seriously man, I love it. I found out pretty quick that the stock lights are way to low when I was driving in to my buddy's cottage on Eels Lake rd. the weekend of the rally. I just couldn't read the tree line, very spooky.

What part of Toronto are you in, I haven't seen your car around yet?

Man... and these were clean pants too!...

Hey Pete,

At the time I bought them, the lights were about $495 a pair with harnesses. I think I even got them a little cheaper then that because I bought 2 pairs (eurobeams and cornering lights). With the light bar I think it cost me about $1300 with taxes, which I thought was really reasonable given the setup. It may be a little more $ now since everything is pretty much worked out.

I got everything from Paul at HSL Rallysport. You will likely want to get a new quote from him directly (hslrally@hotmail.com). I was just talking to him tonight and he's working on an even nicer light setup that's a little more refined. Mine was the first of it's kind and we worked together to delveop it.

The lights work awesome for following treelines now!! 8 lights would be optimal, but I don't have enough alternator for that setup.

I live in Richmond Hill and work in the Airport area, so unless you spend lots of time in either of those places, you likely won't see me around. If you want to have a closer look at the lights, email me (richardh@mavpro.com) and we can always meet somewhere. I'll be at the next YWRS event in Quebec if you are going too?

Later, Rich

I don't think I'm ready for the whole enchilada yet. I think I am going to try to mount a pair of Hella 500 clear fogs in the stock location, and then find a removeable bar for two 4000's. I want to compromise between a photon torpedo launcher and something I can use on backroads and on the way to rallies. I'm looking forward to seeing your car at the rallies.
