Default STi hood scoop duct

I'm not sure I've heard of anyone on here actually putting in the STi duct after putting in a larger intercooler. I have one here and it seems like a worthwhile thing to have. I was toying with the thought of putting it in with the sti scoop with the stock intercooler but I don't think that would be a good idea. Mainly because the STi duct is split into two sections to redirect airflow to the front/back and I think it would redirect air off the back of the intercooler and do me no good. I'm sure it would help cool off the engine bay somewhat. The difference in size between the stock one is more in width. Here is a picture of it:

Cool, so now we know that the New STi has the splitter in there!

Where you got it and for how much, if you dont mind me asking.

I need one, if you don't use it, I'll take it off your hands!

Seeing this has about convinced me that all I should get is the fastline fabricated splitter. Looks to cover about the same area, and I doubt this is around $100 (question still out there). I have a STi IC, and for now, just removed the rubber seal.

Actually this thing is probably $100-125. It's not really an STi performance part, just a subaru part, so I don't think it's super inflated. The part number on the sticker says: 90817FE110. I got this one from STiParts with the hood scoop but I'd ask Dan at vivid/accurit what they can get them for. Another source would probably be AV Sports, they have very good prices on STi stuff. They are the ones that sold the STi intercoolers for $575. I believe this part actually comes with a new larger seal but I'm not positive since that was in another box with the scoop.

Default Even better!

Great - AV is where I go the IC and injectors. Talked to them about getting the underside of a STi scoop, but they thought it would be awhile before they saw got one. Thanks.

I got my STI scoop from Dan at Vivid. I purchased it painted and it matches perfectly. I ended up moding my stock metal duct. I cut the sides and bent the angle duct back farther. Now the foam seal meshes to the underside of the Scoop just like the the stock setup did.

No regrets getting the scoop. It looks nice and is much larger.
