I have a spare ej22 na engine out of a '97 impreza.I plan on putting this into a 2001 impreza L. The heads are junk, but the block itself is still in really amazing shape, only has 80k miles on it.
my question is - If i want to achieve around 250-300horsepower with boost, how would i achieve this on a ej22 N/A block? I know i will need to swap the heads, I assume the pistons need to be changed to the ej22t. Now would going DOHC heads, be the best thing to do for a low compression? If so, what would i use ? and would i need to change wiring harness, or intake manifold ? I have read a lot on the different ej22 builds, but it seems like a lot decide to swap in a ej25 or ej20.
