Question 99 2.5 rs suspension and motor swap, into 97 impreza s/w??

i've got a 99 2.5 rs that was wrecked. i'm wanting to put the full suspension, motor, tranny, wireing harness and such into a 97 impreza sport wagon. my question is will there be any sticky situations i need to know about or will it all bolt in with just a lot of work? thanks guys

It's pretty straightforward really.

Swap all of the running gear from the RS (eng, trans, driveline, diff) into the wagon. Make sure the headgaskets are good, or else replace them before your swap. You'll save yourself a headache.. All 2.5 N/A headgaskets are prone to failure. Might as well swap the brakes from the RS too..

Keep the 2.5 engine, intake manifold, wiring attached. Your chassis harness _should_ plug into the RS engine harness. Check the big square plugs to see if they look the same. Should be 2 of them attached to the trans/or near it. Replace the 2.2 ecu with the 2.5 ecu. Fire it up!

Is your wagon 5mt or AT?

Hope this helps..or lmk if you have any other questions.

Chassis harness will definitely not plug into the engine harness. Wiring will be the toughest part of this swap; honestly it might be worth selling the engine and finding a 98 2.5, which is plug and play.

Unless you're planning to make a 2 door OBS that's not going to work.
