my new ride. from a good friend i paid a mere $500, i had to put $540 in the engine though before i could really drive it as a daily ride. Just got the GT wheels on it today, i miss the boost of my 94, but slowly im falling for her....

Very nice, I'm always a fan of the snowflake rims. Was that $540 for the headgaskets?

drop it like it's hot. Seriously. Those wheels look fantastic on the outback. I'm surprised I haven't seen the combo yet. If you take up the wheel well clearance it'd look really good.
$540? I second the headgasket motion. |

i replaced the timing belt, all idlers, tensioner, the cam seals, crank seal, water pump, oil change, plugs, wires, and put on a cold air intake with a new air filter...it was leaking some oil pretty heavily. I at least cut it down, now the little plate in between the tranny and engine needs a new seal, so it still drips a little oil, but doesn't spit it anymore...
Head gasket must have been replaced at some point, cause no prob's there. The previous owner serviced it to a "T" so i am hoping they have already been done. EDIT: i don't want to drop it, right now its sitting low in the back as the stock 15" alloy's and tires are all in the far back...i think a little bigger tire would fill it in nicely.... the outbacks ride on bigger tires from the factory anyway, so I think the perception of wheel gap is overexaggerated in that pic.

Man that is a nice LOB. Is she a stick or auto? I think the GT rims look REALLY good on her and I think I'm going to get me a set as well. Thank you for posting the pics of her with the rims as I have the same car as you (down to the color) and now I know how good the GT rims look on an OB. Why aren't you going to drop her? It'd look even better and get rid of the wheel gap. LGT KYB struts and springs man, come on! Looks good though.

Winters up here are horrible, if i drop it for the summer, ill be dragging bottom all winter. I love the height, and now ill be unstoppable when the snow really comes down, compared to my 94 ss. these tires are only for now, ill get some bigger ones for next summer, so it'll fill the gap a little better. Thanks for the compliments, i was shocked when i saw how much the rims changed the appearance, i love it, i still am having a hard time believing i got it for $500 myself... |

Bad ass! I just picked up a 98 Outback with a new motor for $4000 (all fees included) from a dealership! It had been brought in that day for trade in and hadn't even inspected it. But, I had to have it!
http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68988 To think I got a good deal... $500? Lucky ass! All I had to do was replace the clutch ($500). It still books at $6500, I believe. I have an 05 LGT and my girl snagged my stock wheels for her Baja! I want my LGT wheels back so I can try them on my OB. |
