Default What to do in Austin?

Hey I'm heading to Austin for the weekend in a couple weeks. It'll be me and my girl friend. Looking for some suggestions on fun things to do...

Been there a few times and we've done the zoo, congress street, 6th street, a ghost tour/hunt and the bat watching thingy... We like to get out and do adventurous stuff. Anyone got any good suggestions?

Go driving in the Hill Country! Lime Creek Road, The Three Sisters, or even that 85mph highway (more novelty than anything). The only thing I do *in* Austin is 6th street.... lol. South Congress is pretty cool tho.

I like Rainey Street bars - just something a little different from the 6th vibe.

If yall are okay with driving and want something outdoorsy - head out to Hamilton Pool or Longhorn Caverns. a little bit out of the way but we don't have anything like it up here.

Also if you don't mind another really great drive and like Bourbon you can hit the Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, TX.

Breakfast at Juan in a Million (east side) - good, kinda touristy but ranked a must-do for most folks.

Got some good disc-golf courses if yall are into that. Many music venues to choose from if you like live music. A couple of good brewery tours if you like beer. Texas Museum is pretty awesome especially if you're a proud native. Tons of good local food places.. you could plan your weekend around the popular food places if you wanted.

I went to esthers a while back and it was really funny - they throw a lot of politics, current events, celebrities, and song/dance stuff, etc into their skits.

Sweet, we walked by when they were doing a show and it looked fun. We go to hyenas and the improv here a lot so I'm sure we'll enjoy it.

Stand up in Austin is actually rated as some of the best in the nation. Velveta room and cap city comedy do some amazing shows. If you are into crazy clubbing, kingdom, Ibiza after dark, lanai, Ramos, and republic live have intense edm shows every week. Headliners, not just locals.

Default austin to do

For burgers I like these places:
Phil's Ice House, Billy's on Burnet, and E-Z's on north Lamar.

Also, In-N-Out burger just opened in Austin recently.

See if CoTA has anything going on when you get to Austin. Check out the CoTA tower at night - they light it up depending on what ever they want to celebrate.

The Warehouse district has some 'grown-up' bars if you are in the mood.

Test drive a new subie from Austin Subaru on FM 2222 and maybe Emma Long Park road.
