Default PIC REQUEST: 00-04 Legacy Wagon dropped on H&R's

i ordered the kyb gr2's, the h&r drop springs, and the sti top hats. just waiting for all of em to get to my house. but damn i'm pretty stoked on how good it'll look.

i'm thinking the drop might be weak sauce and not drop it that much. so i just wanted to see how it looks so i get an idea of how low it'll get.

thanks.

It drops it a fair amount. Look in the picture thread in the sticky section. Half the lowered BE/BH's will be on H&R GR2 combo.

IIRC the drop is around 1.5inches all around. Consider that the STi sport springs usually drop around 10-20mm (.5- 7/8"), and you'll get a pretty good idea of how it drops relatively.

One thing i dont understand, when i was running my mk2 jetta, it was highly advised against to go with any type of lowering springs with gr-2 shocks, as gr-2s are just oem replacement

BHattlewagon, have no fear... I have had the KYB GR-2s and H&R Sport Springs on my '00 BH for a year and they have performed beyond my expectations. Total drop was @ 1.3 inches in front and a little more in the back. The car sits very level - stock was slightly taller in the back if I recall. While the combination will evidently void the KYB warranty, I have pushed these hard - even loaded them down during a recent move and drove 1K miles in 2.5 days - and the combination of the springs and the GR-2s (30% stiffer than stock) results in less body roll, dive, and squat. Plan on more alignments if you're running on rough roads... Email me if you want to see my pics. (I don't have them posted)

Yeah, they're like 10% stiffer both ways than stock; not really enough to consider them a real performance "upgrade" but they're the only struts/shocks available for the BE/BH stateside.

The B4 Bilsteins are valved more aggressively (and fronts are a monotube design), but theyre $$ even used.
