I knew that I was going to get kicked off the track for running under 11.50 if I ran the car full out, so I made three or four 1/8 mile passes getting the launch and shift points down.

I bumped the launch control up 500rpm each time and after doing a 1.5 sixty foot when leaving at 5500rpm, I felt that was as good as it was going to get. The 1/8 mile times and speed showed that the car was capable of a 10 second pass, I just needed to put it all together on a clean pass.

So I let the car cool down for about an hour and lined up for the final pass. It launched beautifully and I flat-footed every shift and ran it out the back door.

Of course I was lectured at the time slip booth and was told to go see the track manager, but I couldn't find him (wink wink nudge nudge) and just proceeded to drive out the gate.

I'm using a 1.06 A/R hotside - we went ahead and ported it while it was apart, of course.

oh my, that's soo sick! Thats with a completely stock 04 sti 6mt? I guess those gears really are worth something. Nice pass dude.

With that kind of power, are the dss axles almost mandatory? Or can you get by with stock sti axles?

The 6MT is 99% stock. I broke the output shaft earlier in the year, so it now has a stock output shaft has been cryo-ed.

I replaced the axles before going to the track - there's more money in selling parts that aren't broken.

I'm using the Driveshaft Shop Level 5 rear axles and their front axle bar upgrades.

What's next?

There is no next stage. It's complete...

I'm running Yokahoma Advans in 235/40/18. I must admit, the track was well prepped and sticky yesterday.

None. The car is way to nice to put a cage in. And it would leave no room for the groceries.

I don't even own a video camera. I spend my money on car parts.

However, there are some dyno videos that the guys at MZM took here:

Yep, it will remain a street car. I went down the full-tilt race car path with my Mustang and it seems to zap the fun out of it when it gets too serious.
