look at that white sticker. it shows what relay does what.
if it doesnt, you have a 1 in 3 shot of finding the right one the first time

Talking 1999 OBS fog light relay

Would this be the same for a 1999 Outback sport? I'm trying to find the relay switch for my fog lights too. I've read on here look for a pink plug or look of a black plug but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know the part # or the # that should be on the relay as well? I've called about 4 dealerships and all of them seem to have different answers. Thanks.

Lightbulb Relay P/N and wiring question

I just ordered a relay and switch to put fogs in my 1999 OBS from subarupartsforyou.com, here is my invoice with p/n:

Item Name: RELAY FOG LAMPS FOR 1993-2001 IMPREZA
Item #: 82501FC100 or AEO3A (wrong P/N see update below)
Unit Price: $9.00
Quantity: 1
Ship Method: UPS Ground -- residential

Item Name: SWITCH FOG LAMP FOR 1997-2001 IMPREZA located on dash left
side of steering wheel
Item #: 83001FA051
Unit Price: $29.00
Quantity: 1
Ship Method: UPS Ground -- residential

Now as far as the plug, are you asking about the plug for the relay or the plug for the switch? The plug for the switch I believe is the grey plug next to the cruise control switch, at least thats what I have in my OBS.

Now here is a question for people who have installed factory fogs before, where the heck is the plugs for the factory foglights to plug into on the 1999 OBS? I have had my hands all inside the bumper on both sides and cant seem to find them. Does the factory install kit come with some sort of extra harness? The only plug I found is a two wire plug taped up on the drivers side headlight and no plug on the opposite headlight. I thought all imprezas in 1999 had wiring for fogs. I didn't order an OEM kit since I'm putting in aftermarket fogs (non HID) and I want to use the stock wiring. If anyone has the OEM instructions for the kit, that would really help.

UPDATE (11/10/07): The fog light relay that I received was the wrong type. I received the Square type fog light relay (82501FC100) used in the 2002+ Imprezas, the pre 02s use the round style type relay (82501AA130) which plugs into a pink pluig located to the left of the fuse box under the dash. I got it from my local subaru dealer for $22. BTW, the relay above the fog light relay with the blue plug is the power window relay, I used that relay to test the fog light connector prior to buying another relay.

Also I confirmed that the two wire plug taped up on the drivers side headlight is the fog light connector. Reading in another forum, the OEM fog light kit comes with a harness which extends from that connector to each foglight. Since I have aftermarket non-hid fogs, I will just make my own harness using the wiring that the aftermarket fogs came with and tap off that connector on the headlight. Now I just need to wait for a day where it isn't frezzing out so that I can mount the fogs.

Quick question! Is there a relay that I can use substituting OEM factory fog relay? I really need one ASAP can't wait for shipping...

Is there something I can buy from Radio shack or anywhere else?

EDIT: Do you know if this will work??

you might be able to rig up a normal relay to work, but your best bet is still your local dealer
