I know. I know. They're just numbers. Inevitably, some of you are going to post in this thread saying that, adding something about the importance of driving dynamics, etc. (and I won't disagree with those statements), but like it or not, people look at those numbers.

So, accepting that fact, which of the normally available metrics would you say are most indicative of how a car will perform in real everyday situations?

the point is not driving 100mph on a daily basis, it's about how much powaaa ya got...cars like the wrx are gasping for air up in the up there. most cars will hit 60 no problem, it's the upper end that most cars have trouble with

OK. I see what you're saying, but for me, around-town performance is more important, so 0-30 is more important for me.

I don't know about that. When I start from a green light, I am usually starting from a dead stop, not 5 mph.

I think that an ideal measurement would be how fast a car can go from 0-30 or 0-60 without wheelspin or screeching.
