Taken their ride to a Suby dealer for Warranty Work? I'm gonna take my Aero into Kachina Saab (it's close) to see if they can fix my winshield wiper problem and maybe take a stab at fixing the dreaded AC Chirp. Kachina said they DONT think getting documented work done at a Subaru dealer would be OK to cover the warranty.
Not to many Saabaru guys here but thought I'd try and ask if anyone had experience to see if this was the case...Thanks

You don't think I know that Saab or any manufacturer manuals say warranty related parts, service and accessories are to be replaced at a Saab dealer only? Just thought I'd ask if anybody is bending the rules (thats why I titled the thread Longshot) because this is such a 'mixed' parts car, but never mind...guess I'll just leave my stupid questions to 92x.com.

u might have had a fighting chance to take it to a GM dealership - at least they are in the same family as Saab
just because Subaru and GM had a one night stand - doesnt mean that either one wants to deal with the others offspring |

There's no way that a Subaru mechanic is going to be able to bill Saab for the warranty work. It doesn't matter who's parts are under the hood. It all comes down to who's badge is on it. Typically in GM a dealer from one division is cleared to bill another division for warranty work done (ex. Chevy and Pontiac), but if you go to a Saab / Cadillac / Hummer dealer they won't let a Cadillac mechanic even change your oil...even on a Sabaru.
