Default Anyone buy at Power recently?

I have a buddy who is interested in a used car that Power has (sorry fish and other dealer employees ) the names on the autotrader ad are Steve Moggel, Mike Mallon, Rodger Howard. Has anyone worked with any of these guys before? Anyone have any other contacts at Power in sales?

Thanks.

I can't say that I have. You don't need a hook at a dealership, just negotiating skills. Keep telling them what you'll pay and they'll budge at some point. They probably come back to you with 3 or 4 different prices, you don't like it, tell them what it will take to earn your business, if they don't like it get up and leave. Then they'll come chasing after you and then they'll say yes!

I'd bet his buddy doesn't want to do the dance, just go in, say X and leave with the car.

I would never, I mean NEVER buy from that place. I went in there and they jerked me around for 3 ****ing hours. The salesman was nice but extremely bad at his job, and his manager was a royal douche. They took picture of my trade in and then the sales manager got in my car without even asking me and drove it around for 10min. Then when i got fed up with all their BS and left, i hear this ringing in my car and the douche left his phone in MY car that he took for a joy ride. Not to mention the A/C was broke in the building so i was sweating my ass off the entire time.

I dont, I was too pissed off to ask. The salesman left(he said it was his last month there) and the manager was a short, dark skinned guy, with Gucci sunglasses, AKA, a douchey looking dude.

I went to camelback and they were 100x better, and gave me a KILLER deal. If you go there speak to Larry Carroll, he's the sales manager.

Thanks for the feedback of how to negotiate and to go somewhere else.

If the used car he wants is at Power, he has to buy it at Power. I was hoping to find him the least douchey salesperson (No offense to any of the car salesman on this forum, if any of you guys had the car he wanted I would send him your way) I could via your experiences.

^ yea, just sucks though. Dont let them jerk you around, go in there with the edmunds trade in value of the car, and you should pay no more than a couple hundred to a thousand over that. If its used and a trade in it means they stole it from somebody so dont pay anything near private party pricing for it.

you should never allow yourself to get jerked around for hours at a dealership. they do that on purpose. the longer you keep a possible customer there, the more likely they are to break down and leave with the car.

i bought my tundra at earnhardt ford(i loath earnhardts...used to sell cars for them). anyways, i went there because i already knew their bs games they play. i went in and left with the truck in just over an hour.

I'd imagine that's the way to go. From what I've read in regard to Aaron's buddy is they are looking @ a car that probably was a showroom demo or GM used. So it's probably not used per say.

I bet that walking in with a check (or cash) for $X and saying this is how much I am willing to pay you for the vehicle, take it or I walk out would be a good way to go.

that's good, not so at earnhardt dealerships. and i have a few friends at others, like chevy and vw. average deals take 3 hours or more. they also figure by that time, they'll purchase extended warranties etc. in finance, without really paying attention. i always disagreed which is why i left.

IIRC, it's a 2007 Legacy GT Spec B he's after. Pretty specific on the year though I think he said he'd do a 2008 if the price was right.

only reason a sale should take 3 hours is if the customer is wasting the salesman's time and has no idea what they want or they cant really afford a car in the first place but went in to get numbers

3 hours would be faster than 90% of all the cars I have purchased. Most of the dealers love playing the back and forth game...

Mike from Power sold me my 06 STi, great experience. Just told them what I was willing to pay, since I was paying in cash. Everything went smooth, no problems at all.

yes i have, and i hate having my time wasted especially on a hot day with someone who drove up in a beater eclipse rs and cant afford a mercedes in the first place but refuses to look at anything else, and if you are taking ups you cant ignore the people either, a losing situation that happens all the time, then again i worked at subaru in avondale where they like you to go fast and not waste too much time with customers

edit: only reason i dont go back to it is the hours suck, i like my free time, plus i would have to be my normal friendly and charismatic self that everyone loves

I cant really speak for Power Subaru since I have done business there but if they are anything like Power Dodge. Stay the hell away.... What a nightmare that was and to boot my salesman called me a liar and a thief after I bought the car. Now thats what we call customer service right there. Top notch

Yes agreed takeing ups to someone who is there just wasting your time sucks but yeah the only reason a deal will take a long time is if the customer is playing games and wont make up their mind on the price that is why all of our cars are pre marked with our best price now if there is a monthly payment that the customer is trying to be at we will show them what it takes to get to that monthly payment on that car, with their trade in, with their credit
