Default Stock Saabaru breaks into the 13's!

Went to the drag strip for the 2nd time in my life and first time with my car. Went up to Great Lakes Dragway in Wisconsin with a buddy who has a very fast MKIV GTI.

Anyways, I was expecting to be running mid 14's after looking at what other people have been running with stock 06 and 07 WRX's.

My first run I cranked out a 14.119 @ 94.75 mph.

The next run I ran a 14.072 @ 94.90 mph.

The next few runs varied betwen 14.1 and 14.3's, so I let the car cool off for a while.

Here was the run of the night...

60: 1.906
330: 5.661
1/8: 8.839
MPH: 77.96
1000: 11.550
1/4: 13.880
MPH: 95.33

I was quite surprised when I saw the timesheet

My car had a full interior, including a spare. I was running with a half a tank of 93 octane into a 10-15 mph headwind.

My only "mod" is an axleback.

I'll try to get a pic of the timeslip up in a bit.

Edit: Here's the slip.

Fair enough, my crappy point and shoot is having trouble focusing on the timeslip since the text is so light. I'll have to wait for my roommate with a Rebel to take a picture.

What were ambient temps? I'm betting cold.

I for one did not know that they still built the 9-2x for MY 2006

It's basically a 2006 WRX Wagon with a little more weight (more sound deadening, denser carpeting, ect.)

I dont think its not possible at all considering I ran a 13.89 @ 96 completely stock....

But you have more weight and I had a better 60'.

Regardless good times, get the slip up before the real haters get here....

I think you forget that the 06's have a 2.5l motor and super tall 5mt ratios.

Good job!

That's a pretty slow trap speed for a 13.8, let alone the launch.

I don't know where you made up the time, but good run.

Not that it was helping you much....but stock means stock...

I know, all of that power my axleback added must have boosted me to warp speed between my launch and trap. Maybe my cyborg-like shifting speed helped...

Oh, no...its obvious from yout trap speed that you didn't have any extra power...

I'm just saying, stock means stock...not stock and X....

Still curious as to the E.T. with respect to the slow(ish) 60' and trap speed. Makes people wonder where you made up the time?

I can say that in many years on here, I've never seen such numbers...

Good run none-the-less....now get it out on a roadcourse!

an axelback doesn't give you any power, you guys are nit-picking. That car is stock, and that was a helluva good run. Congrats!

I've been autocrossing it like a madman and the RE92's are begging for mercy. I'm hoping to do some HPDE's in the Spring when I get a set of summer tires. I don't plan on doing any more 1/4 mile runs until I get some mods
