Slightly off topic, but does anyone (non-STI's) worry about killing transmissions with torque that high (300+)? Is there a thread someone can refer me to that talks about tranny risk?

I would say the majority of us WRX owners with over 300wtq have gears. Over 300whp, well, thats a different story

I have recently moved up to stage II with a 3 inch turbo back and an XPT Stage II map and I worry about 3rd gear. I'm not launching or banging gears, but there are so many threads about this issue that one can't help but worry a bit.

Man I was Stage II for 40k miles with no probs. Dont drive like a jackass and you will be ok.
I have been Stage 4 for like 8k now and still running strong with no grinding etc. *knocks on wood* Jay is still stock gears with an SR55 and 2.5l swap. He needs to be saving for gears at any time, but its all in how you drive it bro. |

I'm smooth (that sounds a bit vein). I'm no rookie when it comes to driving and I have a firm understanding of what makes a car work and not work. I just can't help but worry a bit. Thanks for the encouragement.
