Default Back from the SCCA Awards Banquet...

Just got back from the SCCA New England Region's Awards banquet at the Mariott just south of Hartford, CT.

I'm happy for the guy (Matt Murray) who won the championship (Sterling Moss Trophy), but depressed because 2nd place is the 1st loser. (Me). Yeah, I got 2nd overall for the year. Man I was '    ' close.

Food was good, people, great as usual. Got my trophy for winning GS, a nice pullover with my name on it and 2001 NER/SCCA SOLO II Series Class Champion G Stock.

Congrats also goes out to Kurt (Darshu) for winning Novice Prepared. Wheee!!!

Kurt, I have your 'Trophy'.

Ok, 2 classes down, (GS and ST-R), many more to go. (SM this year's gonna be tough)

See ya when I see ya.

Concratulations, KC

While you are right in that very few people will ever remember who finished second, I dont think that makes you a looser.

Thanks for grabbin' my jacket, KC -- if you bring it to the Winter Safety school next w/e I'll be there too. Unfortunately, I feel as though my first SCCA trophy will be my only one since I have to be competetive against people with real driving skill now Though I'll have something to shoot for with you wasting me in SM

Fantastic!! Coming in second for the Stirling Moss NER trophy is still wonderful from what I understand. I don't know the in's and outs of the SCCA but that is a biggy around here... stick with it Keith and "one day... it will be yours".

Congrats to Kurt too! That is just the kind of award that would indicate that you could be chasing Keith down sooner than both of you might think.

I need to compete in something again.

Ummm... nope.

You don't get the Stirling Moss trophy for cheating, or lack thereof. Matt drove his BMW 318 in HS very well (well, ok, to the limits and more) and is very deserving of the trophy. Also, he came in 2nd at Nationals in HS. He's that good.

Thanks for the kind words.

You can have it! I figure it'd be a legal weight savings.
