Default help!

lost 5th gear tonight. was racing a 90 supra turbo and when i went to 3rd i missed hit 5th instead and apparantly it blew the teeth on the synchro, it started grinding i thought i just missed the gear thats why it was grinding so i went into 3rd then continued to 4th to STILL win the race but when i hit 5th to cruise away NO 5TH it doesnt click in like it should, and when i let off it instantly pops back out so i think the synchro teeth broke right? anyways what i really need to know is if anyone knows if having an aftermarket air intake and a universal muffler welded to the stock catback piping will void my warranty? i mean its no big deal to put the stock airbox back on but the muffler ill have to take it to the muffler shop and have the stock one re-welded on, then after repairs go back and have the new one re-re-welded on.

1) Go ahead and put the stock air box on, can't hurt at all.
2) Do NOT mention that you were racing somebody that would have waxed you if a) they knew how to drive and b) the motor wasn't shot from 12 years of abuse
3) I wouldn't worry about the exhaust. DaimlerChrysler never complained about my Flowmaster on my Jeep when it made it's 20 or so trips for warranty work. I think everybody knows that a muffler alone doesn't create enough extra power to snap gears or synchros.
