For those concerned about the spool up, please understand that it has A LOT to do with the cam gear tuning. They are tuned for almost no low end, and all top end. We have another Subaru here with an identical motor, but a twin scroll GT40R running lower boost. This dyno plot shows the difference in curves with the cam gears zero'd out, and tuned. Notice how much low end was lost in order to give a flat, higher revving top end. This is obviously not ideal for everyone. Most will probably not touch the cams and have a much stronger mid range.

are you guys running an IAC on that throttle body? I have the same throttle body but need to get an IAC for it and wasn't sure where to get an adapter for it.

It's a Mustang 3" throttle body. We're using the matching Mustang IACV.

Were you changing cam timing on the exhaust only? Awesome results!

It's winter over here now. Sal has the car at home in his garage I believe. Can't wait for winter to end.

except in a Supra you would get just get a whole bunch of smoke, and stay relativley stationary (unless you were running some slicks).

With an STi, youre gonna be moving forward...really quickly (with only a little tire smmoke)

Do some more searching. I think you'll find an STI with a GT42R making 800 HP with a very usable powerband.

Very nice guys. I love seeing large turbo'd engines with enough of a powerband to be useable.
