Default Another Downpipe installation thread!

Is anybody free this weekend and willing to help me install my DP? I'd love to get it put on and just cant afford to pay to have a shop install it. I'm sure I could manage to do it alone but i'd feel better if somebody could help me out so I dont newb the install up haha. Food and beverages on me as well!

BTW: its a catless DP, and I remember hearing somebody say you needed something for a "cell fix" if you run a full catless set up, anybody willing to shed some more light on this "cell fix"?

Night time works for me, it just means its cooler outside. I have several sets of spotlights as well. What day works for you?? I'm pretty much free any day, but i figured the weekend would work best for most people. Do you have any experience with the "cell fix" as well?

Yea I have a garage, and all the tools you'd ever need haha. So the tune should fix the cell? If so I wont have to worry about it, I want to install the DP myself so I can afford the tune, plus its more fun that way

cell is actually CEL, which stands for Check Engine Light. Because you're effectively removing a piece of the exhaust that's supposed to be there, the ECU is going to WTF and turn on a light

You're not going to see much of a benefit putting on a catless DP without some sort of engine management / tune anyway. Yeah Yeah, 2007 STi ECUs respond better to mods, blah blah... but you'll see 1000X more results if you get tuned for your new free-flowing exhaust side.

My advice? Don't put the new downpipe in until you have a tune scheduled. Do the downpipe IMMEDIATELY before the tune, get tuned for it, and you're good to go, from piece of mind to full potential power-wise.

That being said... Even though you're on the other side of the Valley, if you need help on any day and no one else can help, I'll give you a hand. I've done, oh, about 23482904324 ka gillion downpipe installs.

I'll be out of town this weekend though.

Yea I know its CEL but its been a long day, and well, i'm not that great when it comes to typing haha. I plan on getting the tune right after I have it installed, its just stupid to drive with the stock mapping on a turbo back.

Thanks gormonk, but if the tune will eliminate the CEL I wont be needing it.

It pretty much comes down to who is available the soonest, because i'd like to have the full weekend to work on my civic if I can. So V8 and wamper, when are you guys free?
