Default BMW Offering Factory Performance Parts

In an effort to capitalize on the lucrative aftermarket performance parts sector, BMW in the U.S. is offering a range of official modifications to improve the handling and braking of its cars. All the parts come with the levels of quality you’d expect from genuine OEM components and are also backed by a full factory warranty.

Initially, BMW Performance parts will be offered for the 3-series range and the Z4 coupe and roadster. The first mod is a new high-flow stainless steel exhaust that provides an additional 5hp and 4kg weight saving. An engine kit is available for the naturally aspirated 3.0L models, lifting output to 235hp and 22lb-ft of torque. Through the use of specifically-tuned camshafts and a modified ECU, maximum engine speed is raised from 6,500rpm to 6,800rpm.

One of the more interesting mods is the new shift kit, which is said to reduce shift lever travel by up to 25% and, thus, improve shift times. To improve handling, customers will be able to add a carbon-fiber and aluminum strut brace, a 3.07:1 ratio performance differential, and a suspension lowering kit. On certain models, a front lower control arm set and stabilizer bars are included as well.

An exhaust for the NA BMWs are worthless, but an exhaust for the 335 would be pretty sweet.
