This is a new product for the subie community.
I was one of the testers for the product. I currently own a 06 wrx, manual. I live in LA so there is always a ton of traffic. So when I was looking to get a subie, I had a hard time picking the manual over the auto. (If you have ever had to sit in stop and go in traffic for 2hrs going 0-3mph, then you would know how much it sucks.) <3 I took it off once just to see the difference and wow just amazing, my leg was sore and I had a blister on the foot So needless to say I re-installed it at my destination. This make daily driving almost effortless... I dont know what else to say then go out and try it.. This product reduces the distance between engaging the clutch and releasing. I would give this an A++ to have. Once you use it you will ask yourself why in the hell did Subaru now make it like this originally. Anyways I just wanted to let a few more subie owners know about this. Really great mod in my book, and I am looking forward to hear what you have to say after your tired it. I just wanted to post up how great this mod is and how extremely easy it is to install. It will take 15mins if you know how to use a Philips head and a 14mm open ended wrench. Here is the instructions. ![]() ![]() You also email the guy at: tdw123456@yahoo. If you have any questions or just PM.

John,
Thanks for the great review! Sorry you got innundated with PMs. If you want more information on the D-Wolf kit please PM me or e-mail me at tdw123456@yahoo.comand I'll answer all your questions. D-Wolf here is a cut from the brochure-- D-Wolf Clutch Kit Patent Pending What is it? Its a clutch position adjustment kit for all 02 through 07 Subaru WRX and 04 through 07 Subaru STi models with manual transmission. The D-Wolf Clutch kit eliminates the unused travel area between the floor and the engagement point. The result is a clutch that engages almost as soon as you begin letting it out. What does it do? Faster and smoother shifts - By engaging very close to the floor, faster and smoother shifts can be easily achieved and your car will feel infinitely more comfortable to drive. The D-wolf kit eliminates approximately 1 of useless clutch pedal travel (at the floor). There is no effect on the cruise control or any other vehicle function. The D-Wolf kit does not affect the life of the clutch, or the existing characteristics of the clutch. How do you install it? The D-Wolf Clutch kit is easy to install. A Phillips head screwdriver and a 14mm open-end wrench are the only tools required. Installation takes about 10 minutes. Last edited by D-Wolf; 09-20-2007 at 11:55 AM. Reason: added c&p |

The D-Wolf kit is designed for use with a stock clutch. We have tested 2 cars with aftermarket clutches and both worked as designed, but there are so many clutch variations out there that we can't make any claims about usage with an aftermarket clutch.

This is a really good idea. I always thought high engagement of the clutch pedal in my WRX was due to the clutch disk being worn down because I'm at 70k miles.
On new clutches, does this kit make sure it's not taking up too much slack? I wouldn't want to take up so much where the clutch is always disengaging when you're not even touching the pedal. |

My 03 WRX was a test subject for the D-wolf kit and I must say best mod ever! Clutch engagement is smoother, driving around town has never felt so good. Couldn't be happier. I even had a friend drive my car without telling him about the kit and he immediately noticed the difference. I highly recommend this product.

So you can confidently stomp the cluch and know its just beyond the needed point to engage the clutch, thus reducing waisted clutch play between shifts? Is the engagement point the same on every wrx clutch? I would think there would be some slight varience leaving those with a lower position (extra play), and those with a higher point (No slack at all)

i've had my d-wolf clutch kit for almost a month now and i am very pleased with its on going results. even though this minor modification makes a world of a difference in driving technique, it is VERY easy to adjust to. i'd have to agree with john that this product is most efficient in heavy traffic situations, though i have to say i have a lot of fun with it with quicker starts as well.
i also want to say thanks, terry, for coming out to our meets to personally introduce this product to us. if anyone would like to feel the difference, pm me and we'll try to work something out. |
