Default My 2.5 hybrid build story.

About two months ago I spun an engine rod bearing on my 05 WRX wagon while at an autocross. All engine/power was stock up to that point as I didn't want to spend money and have it break too soon, oh well for that idea. Living in MD I had it taken to Andrewtech and decided that I would feel better spending money on something I wanted rather than spending money on getting the same, so I decided on a hybrid build. Subaru 2.5 liter block, modified injectors, walbro fuel pump, jdm sti uppipe, and a utec. I was also informed that my clutch was about to go, 78k miles, so in goes a exedy stage 1 clutch. While they were in there I decided to do an ACT lightweight flywheel as well. This car stuff is like crack! During the break in period I was still getting check engine codes most of which were fixed by Andrewtech at the post break in tune. However I started to get det engine codes, due to boost coming on too soon. Only having a road tune and the small stock turbo contributing. Obviously if I was going to have a dyno tune it makes sense have to get a larger turbo . And an exaust, and a larger intercooler right? Andrewtech hooked me up with a great deal on some spare parts they had around, vf39, stealthback turboxs exaust, and Dan's old intercooler. Like I said before like crack.

Today at 5:30 pm is the dyno tune and I am very much looking forward to it. Seeing what the numbers end up being and then being able to drive it away with a big smile on my face. On the other hand I don't want it to make TOO much as I still have the stock transmission and after all of this I am forbidden, by the wife, to spend any more on the car. I'll post more later after getting the car back wish me luck.

Justin
